The Procrastinator's Project

 "You need 30 candy gifts for class? Tomorrow?!?"

"I overheard at lunch that my co-workers give out Valentine's Day treats. I need 20; stat!!"
 

Whether we mean to, or not, "surprise" projects can catch us off-guard, unprepared. Sometimes the thought of one more task after the Christmas season, is unthinkable. 

I read a blog post recently on crafting burnout and can identify with it. My weariness when my therapeutic art and craft sessions became a job, robbed me of the joy I had associated with my creativity sessions. 

I borrowed a idea from the past to turn that stress into a procrastinator's easy-peasy project. Perfect when you need to churn out multiples; it's midnight and you have that unopened bag of Kisses or Doves candies. 

Here is what you need to get started:

Adhesives  

Stickles  

Silk Ribbon  

Scoring Tool  

Diecut or cutting tool   (5.5" square die)

Hole Punch

Candy (Chocolate Kisses)

I started with the Altered Pages Valentine Faux Postage collage sheet. A smaller pattern looks great for the background. I chose some hearts from the Altered Pages Angelic Hearts collage sheet to cut out and adhere to the outside. 

I used a square scallop diecut for my project. (It would be just as easy to use a pattern edge on your trimmer to create the shape you want.)

Find the center line of your piece and score a line across. Now score 2 lines, about 1/2" on either  side. 

Fold halves together and punch a small hole in the top center for the ribbon closure. 

Lay double stick tape down the inside seam and place your Kisses in a line. 

Write a sentiment on the inside and sign it.

Fold again and tie closed with silk ribbon.

Adhere cut heart to outside; add sentiment if you wish or add some Stickles to embellish.

 

Done!! See...easy-peasy.
