It's a Wrap - Two birds with one stone

Good Day to you!

Jean here with a little project for making smiles!

I decided what better way to wrap it up than with the original Hollywood "It's a wrap".

The Mailbox Muse Hollywood Kit from months ago had the perfect pieces and parts to allow me to wrap it up with Pocket Pages, wrapped to be mailed!

I started with my blank ATC's that are available on the website.

I then cut apart my Hollywood stamp set. Place the stamps on acrylic blocks by using the Tack and Peel mounting material

I used two different Hollywood movie stars collage images, some fancy cut, others straight cut with rounded corners.  Using the famous Kai Scissors makes fancy cutting a dream due to the short blades and easy handles.   Since I had my thumb joint replacement it is that much more of a pleasure to use them.

I used our double side tape to layer and attach images with decor papers, words and hologram tape.

The fun is in the details, adding lace and trims is always fun.

Stamping the images in black on white ATCs seemed appropriate.  Adding the lace was reminiscent of the Hollywood lingerie of years past.

I made small paper banners attached to large silver paper clips for extra inserts.
I also made a corner holder for when the page is folded for mailing.  Make sure to correctly measure and cut your corners, especially if using patterned papers, they must be cut as opposites to match up front and back to create the corner holder insert.  Use double side tape to hold the two pieces together.

I hope you enjoyed this edition of 'It's a Wrap' from Hollywood and AlteredPages.

The Mailbox Muse will be mailing out in October.   It is 'SEW aMUSEing', with fun projects and supplies, all with a sewing theme but not necessarily sewn!

Handy Tip for Artists, Recyclers and Neat Freaks! I have a follow-up to the Citra-Sol method for creating fabulous background pages and collages.   I bought a big bag of navel oranges and realized I had the ingredients to make my own solvent!   Simply take a clean glass jar, peel the rind from the oranges and place all the rind/peels, without the pulp (tangerines, oranges, navels) into the jar.   Pour enough vinegar over the peels to cover them.    Allow the jar to sit for a week or two and VOILA!     You have made your own solvent for literally pennies.    You will notice the liquid getting a bit thicker than the plain vinegar and it does not smell bad!!! I now have a  HUGE jar on the window sill!       Be careful and only use this after testing on a safe spot.
