Marie Antoinette Falls for Halloween

Hi everyone! It's me, Tonya.  It is hard to believe that fall and cooler weather is right around the corner but I am here to share some rolodex cards using some Halloween and Fall printables  with Marie Antoinette thrown in for fun and some leftover cardstock from previous Mailbox Muse kits.

Everything that was used to create these rolodex cards are listed below in the supply list.
For the first rolodex card I fussy cut one of the Marie Antoinette, jack-o-lantern and butterfly wings. I adhered the butterfly wings to the back of Marie and then glued the jack-o-lantern in Marie's hand. I added black thread to the back before I adhered to the card. For the rolodex card I used a diecut and leftover cardstock from a few of my Mailbox Muse kits. You can also use rolodex cards that you can buy at your local office supply place and alter with cardstock. I also added a little Stickles to the butterfly wings for some shimmer.

The next two rolodex card bases I cut from Vintage Words printable. I fussy cut a Marie and jack-o-lantern out and glued Marie inside of the pumpkin. Then I printed the sentiment from the computer which I cut apart and cut a banner from the Beware! sentiment and glued to pearl top pin. I then adhered to the back of Marie and then adhered to the rolodex. I added the rest of the sentiment, thread and a little Stickles to finish this card off.

For the last rolodex I fussy cut Marie and a set of leaves out. Before gluing the leaves to the backside of the image I shaped and added a little Stickles to the veins of the leaves. I added scraps of cardstock, a sentiment that I printed from the computer and a piece of German foil trim with flat back pearls from my own stash to finish off this card off.

If you have any questions about these rolodex cards please let me know.

  2. Do you actually store them in a Rolodex? That's pretty cool! And I like your choice of themes. Marie adds a touch of French class to any art project.

Handy Tip for Artists, Recyclers and Neat Freaks! I have a follow-up to the Citra-Sol method for creating fabulous background pages and collages.   I bought a big bag of navel oranges and realized I had the ingredients to make my own solvent!   Simply take a clean glass jar, peel the rind from the oranges and place all the rind/peels, without the pulp (tangerines, oranges, navels) into the jar.   Pour enough vinegar over the peels to cover them.    Allow the jar to sit for a week or two and VOILA!     You have made your own solvent for literally pennies.    You will notice the liquid getting a bit thicker than the plain vinegar and it does not smell bad!!! I now have a  HUGE jar on the window sill!       Be careful and only use this after testing on a safe spot.
