STEAMPUNK SPELLS Altered Pocket Page!

If you haven't noticed Pocked Altered Pages has become one of my new favorite thing to create!!!  AlteredPages.com carries a lot of products that can be used to make them.  Also this month we have a swap going on.... there is still time to join... you have until the 20th, see details at the bottom of this post!

The finished Pocket Altered Page!

About a week ago I shared a few photos with a promise to share the completed project... well I want to share a few pictures of my planning, arranging and rethinking that I went through to make my page.

I gather a lot of supplies (see list below) on my table before I start, it helps me create to have things at my finger tips!  If time allows I lay things out and let them sit over night.  Usually when I look at the layout the next day I make changes!

Bare chipboard was inked with VersaColor Black Ink, then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  Embossing powder was applied several times to give it an enameled look.

Locking washers are a great addition to steampunk projects!

Handy Tip for Artists, Recyclers and Neat Freaks! I have a follow-up to the Citra-Sol method for creating fabulous background pages and collages.   I bought a big bag of navel oranges and realized I had the ingredients to make my own solvent!   Simply take a clean glass jar, peel the rind from the oranges and place all the rind/peels, without the pulp (tangerines, oranges, navels) into the jar.   Pour enough vinegar over the peels to cover them.    Allow the jar to sit for a week or two and VOILA!     You have made your own solvent for literally pennies.    You will notice the liquid getting a bit thicker than the plain vinegar and it does not smell bad!!! I now have a  HUGE jar on the window sill!       Be careful and only use this after testing on a safe spot.
