Day Two of Vintage Blue Pocket Altered Pages

Welcome back.  I am continuing on with my Vintage Blue Pocket Altered Page.  I hope you all got the chance to see Day One of this post, which was on the blog yesterday.   Here is a link to day one in case you missed it.  Day one is where I gathered all of my goodies and prepared everything for my Vintage Blue Altered Pocket Page.  Today you will see everything assembled and put into my pocket page.  Also, please check out the info at the end of this post on how to join our Altered Pocket Pages swap later this month.

I mentioned yesterday how much I love this paper pack from Glitz.  It is beautifully vintage, but it is also masculine and with Father's Day coming up I thought one of the pin stripe pieces would be the great beginning of a "Thank you for all you do" to Dad or Granddad.

In my previous post I showed you preparing the pocket cards, basically creating ATC sized cards.  I also fussy cut collage images, did some stamping and paper punching.

Then came some detail work with more stamping, washi tape, staples and ephemera. The great things about these pocket projects is that you have a go to source to make a quick card or layout.  So, I created this project with just that in mind.  You might need a Thinking of You card.  You might need a Birthday card or a whatever card.  That is on hand right here with this one pocket...placed in a binder.  Some of my pockets I actually keep so I know have a quick resource for creating a quick card when needed...even manly ones.

You can see here some of the beautiful collage images from Altered Pages.  I also added paper flowers and pearl dew drops.

More goodies in the form of fibers, charms and a chip board crown.

Below are some more buttons, paper flowers and
a cute purse charm added to a string of pearls.

Below you can see some vintage gold lace, buttons and paper punched circles. These were left un-adhered so there is freedom to place later.

And, here is the final project front and back.

This has been just a blast to do...so much so that I already started working on the next one, which you will see later this month.  I hope you check back to take a look at the next one.  It is 100% total opposite of this soft vintage compilation...think Cosmos and Girls Night Out!   I hope you enjoyed my post.
Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think.  You can even join our swap and get in on the fun - details below.
Have a great weekend!

Handy Tip for Artists, Recyclers and Neat Freaks! I have a follow-up to the Citra-Sol method for creating fabulous background pages and collages.   I bought a big bag of navel oranges and realized I had the ingredients to make my own solvent!   Simply take a clean glass jar, peel the rind from the oranges and place all the rind/peels, without the pulp (tangerines, oranges, navels) into the jar.   Pour enough vinegar over the peels to cover them.    Allow the jar to sit for a week or two and VOILA!     You have made your own solvent for literally pennies.    You will notice the liquid getting a bit thicker than the plain vinegar and it does not smell bad!!! I now have a  HUGE jar on the window sill!       Be careful and only use this after testing on a safe spot.
