Framed Holly Christmas Cards

Hi Everyone, it's Danie here today!  I've been playing most of this week with my Gelli Plate and Prints getting on top of my Christmas Creating so thought I would keep going in that fashion for today's post here for Altered Pages.  This month we are teaming up with Just for Fun Rubber Stamps so I chose their beautiful Framed Holly image with Christmas in mind.

I stamped the image with Black Versafine Ink onto my Gelli Prints and then embossed them with Black Embossing Powder. Being a large stamp to ensure that it stamped perfectly I got my husband to use all his muscle and press the stamp down for me each time after I had inked it up.

Supplies Used:

  • White Card Base
  • Acrylic Paint
  • Gelli Plate
  • JFF - Framed Holly Stamp
  • Christmas Sentiment Stamp
  • Black Versafine Ink
  • Black Embossing Powder
  • St Valentines Staz On Ink

Being a lover of white space and CAS Designs I then took my embossed image and mounted it onto a White Card Base and simply stamped a Greeting in Red with my St Valentine's Staz On Ink Pad.

Gelli Prints are so versatile and are perfect to use when time is of the essence or you need things in quantity but still want them to be arty and unique.  You can see more of my Christmas Creating using my Gelli Prints this week, over on my blog.

Be sure to pop back each day this month to see more fabulous creations using products from Altered Pages and the delightful stamps from Just for Fun Rubber Stamps.

Danie xx

Handy Tip for Artists, Recyclers and Neat Freaks! I have a follow-up to the Citra-Sol method for creating fabulous background pages and collages.   I bought a big bag of navel oranges and realized I had the ingredients to make my own solvent!   Simply take a clean glass jar, peel the rind from the oranges and place all the rind/peels, without the pulp (tangerines, oranges, navels) into the jar.   Pour enough vinegar over the peels to cover them.    Allow the jar to sit for a week or two and VOILA!     You have made your own solvent for literally pennies.    You will notice the liquid getting a bit thicker than the plain vinegar and it does not smell bad!!! I now have a  HUGE jar on the window sill!       Be careful and only use this after testing on a safe spot.
