Chickadee Christmas!

We are seeing some amazing projects using our JFF partner's Deeply Etched Red Rubber Stamps.    WE WILL have a December Giveaway including JFF stamps and a lovely selection of Glitz items.

JFF Stamps has been around a long time and continue to provide excellent stamps with excellent themes and excellent designs. So I guess I think they're EXCELLENT!

I have a couple items before I describe my project for you.

First, make sure to congratulate Robin Horasanian for winning the Tracy Verdugo
signed Paint MOJO book.

Second - We do offer GIFT CERTIFICATES and we know that husbands, children and significant others love to get ideas for gifts.  Easy as Christmas pie!
OR if you have artful friends. what better way to say Merry Christmas or Happy New Year!!!

I chose a weird sort of path to Christmas with my JFF Stamp. I used the Striped Hen which I adore! I named her Scratchy.

I paired it with my KaiserKraft Mint Twist paper pad (all of which also include pages of die cuts)   First I created a white cardstock base for my card.    I then used a sheet of the darling holly leaves with berries for my background, attaching with our fabulous double side tape, I USE IT ALL THE TIME!

Next I created a word document and printed it on Vellum

I stamped my Hen with a black Versacolor inkpad .   I had her get all pretty with Christmasy colors of red and green Momento markers.   Then I went about fussy cutting her, always moving the paper, not the scissors.     I applied the vellum to the background to ensure it all fit ok.   I can't live without my KAI scissors, they are truly the best.   Large thumb holes and short blades allow you to cut anywhere you need, especially close for fussy cutting.

Kai Scissors are EXCELLENT for cutting rubber too!  Don't forget to get  your mounting materials for your stamps too!

I put it all together using dimensionals for the Hen and double side tape all the rest of the layers.  I cut a piece of ribbon from my stash for an accent and tucked it under Scratchy's feet.  I thought it added a festive barnyard sort of feel to the card.

I kept the inside very simple applying the excess cut from the holly paper as a border and applied some of the diecuts from the Kaisercraft paper pad

All of the Kaisercraft Paper pads  that we sell have the die cuts included.

There we are, a Chicken Scratch Christmas!

Hope you enjoy this card I scratched out!

We will announce the November Giveaway winner next Sunday after all the tabulations are done.  We had quite a few comments and want to ensure an accurate count!  Stay tuned!

Handy Tip for Artists, Recyclers and Neat Freaks! I have a follow-up to the Citra-Sol method for creating fabulous background pages and collages.   I bought a big bag of navel oranges and realized I had the ingredients to make my own solvent!   Simply take a clean glass jar, peel the rind from the oranges and place all the rind/peels, without the pulp (tangerines, oranges, navels) into the jar.   Pour enough vinegar over the peels to cover them.    Allow the jar to sit for a week or two and VOILA!     You have made your own solvent for literally pennies.    You will notice the liquid getting a bit thicker than the plain vinegar and it does not smell bad!!! I now have a  HUGE jar on the window sill!       Be careful and only use this after testing on a safe spot.
