Santa Gift Card Holder

Hi everyone! It's me, Tonya and I'm here to share a quick and simple project for this month using some of my favorite Altered Pages supplies and I got to try my creativity with some of the printable film from this month's sponsor Craft Attitude.

I'm going to show you how to create a gift card holder from a tag so lets get started.

The base of this gift card holder is created from a #10 tag (4 1/8"x8 1/2") and all you need to do is fold as shown below. Also ink all edges of the tag in red.

I cut cardstock to fit the inside and then adhered to the tag. I didn't cover the inside of the "pocket" since it won't be seen.

I did the outside of the tag the same as inside.

Next I punched a tiny hole in the center of the flap and threaded the twine through and tied off on the backside. Then I adhered the flap down and used cloths pins to keep everything in place while it dried.

Then I ran a small line of adhesive down each side of the fold to create a pocket and I used cloths pin to hold it together while it dried.

Next I printed Santa from the Altered Pages Collage Sheet Very Vintage Santa onto the Craft Attitude film, adhered to a piece of white cardstock and once dry I then fussy cut the image out.

I adhered the image to the back of the gift card holder and added a little Stickles here and there to give Santa a little sparkle.

Next I used three buttons, two small and one large to create the button closure. In this order I glued the larger button and  then the two smaller ones to the top of the flap. Which I finished off with a dew drop.

There you have it an easy and simple gift card holder. If you have any questions about this project please let me know.

Handy Tip for Artists, Recyclers and Neat Freaks! I have a follow-up to the Citra-Sol method for creating fabulous background pages and collages.   I bought a big bag of navel oranges and realized I had the ingredients to make my own solvent!   Simply take a clean glass jar, peel the rind from the oranges and place all the rind/peels, without the pulp (tangerines, oranges, navels) into the jar.   Pour enough vinegar over the peels to cover them.    Allow the jar to sit for a week or two and VOILA!     You have made your own solvent for literally pennies.    You will notice the liquid getting a bit thicker than the plain vinegar and it does not smell bad!!! I now have a  HUGE jar on the window sill!       Be careful and only use this after testing on a safe spot.
