Inspirational Wall Art

The Altered Pages Design Team is working hard to inspire you this month as we work with the printable film from our partner Craft Attitude™.  Be sure to stop by each day and comment for a chance to win one of the weekly prizes!

Today Karen Conner shares her beautiful inspirational wall art!

Prepare your Masonite board with gesso, dry.  Then paint with blue acrylic paint with a one inch brush -  a little darker on the top and gradually make a little lighter toward the bottom. Allow to dry completely. Lightly brush stamp with white paint to get a nice image of the stamp (careful not too cover thick with paint).  Stamped image numerous times over the whole canvas. Allow to dry completely.

Enlarge the image of the rose on Altered Pages #1814 Paper Roses Collage Sheet.  Printed the rose twice - a little larger than 5x7.  Fussy cut and glue one whole image on the board with gel medium. On the second image fussy cut just the main blooms and one leaf. Take an exacto knife and cut in several folds so when they are added on top of the original image, use dimensionals and have the roses pop off the page.

Print text on Craft Attitude™  -- Don't forget to mirror your words before printing.  Apply Craft Attitude ™film-printed side down with gel medium and smoothed out with a soft cloth.

Punch holes in the top of the board with a Croc-A-Dile and add ribbon.  Add black gelato around the edges of the board and smear with finger.
Viola!  Finished!
Hope it inspires you to combine your favorite scripture or encouraging words to your artwork.

Handy Tip for Artists, Recyclers and Neat Freaks! I have a follow-up to the Citra-Sol method for creating fabulous background pages and collages.   I bought a big bag of navel oranges and realized I had the ingredients to make my own solvent!   Simply take a clean glass jar, peel the rind from the oranges and place all the rind/peels, without the pulp (tangerines, oranges, navels) into the jar.   Pour enough vinegar over the peels to cover them.    Allow the jar to sit for a week or two and VOILA!     You have made your own solvent for literally pennies.    You will notice the liquid getting a bit thicker than the plain vinegar and it does not smell bad!!! I now have a  HUGE jar on the window sill!       Be careful and only use this after testing on a safe spot.

Full Circle

Hi all! Becky here today! I have been in a circle-mood lately & have been doing circles on everything! So why not do some circles with some of my Gelli Prints??? Here's a simple little card I made using 4 different circle punches, a black pen & some previously made Gelli prints! Hope you're enjoying Springtime in your area! Cheers!
