Zen-Sugar-Skull

It's finally October!!!!!!!!! My Fav!!!

This month the Altered Pages Design Team is showcasing products from Art Anthology as well as taking part in the Smeared and Smudged 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop (check the blog roll on the sidebar).  Have fun taking a look at all the fun happenings!

31 Days of Halloween - Day 3
For this I created a fun journal page that I am calling my Zen-Sugar-Skull.

This was created in an old legal book utilizing the yummy yellowy text pages. I pencil sketched in a rough skull with flowers and room for some fun Halloween stamps. My favorite part of this was the luscious Art Anthology paints that would soon bring this to life.

Here are a few pics of the rough sketch and steps that followed...

Outlined with my Micron with a few Halloween stamps thrown in for good measure.
Let the Zentangle begin...

Then the Imperial Sorbet..have you ever seen anything so luscious...?
And, this aint your Mama's puffy paint kids! Here comes the Dimensional Crystal in Guava

A few more fine details, a little crown and done.
Can I just tell you that I almost missed my blog deadline because I just was having too much fun adding and tweaking and primping and dotting. You know how how that is...oh, yes you do!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Make sure to check back daily for inspiration, be it spooky or sweet...we have it all.
Have a great weekend Friends!!!

Handy Tip for Artists, Recyclers and Neat Freaks! I have a follow-up to the Citra-Sol method for creating fabulous background pages and collages.   I bought a big bag of navel oranges and realized I had the ingredients to make my own solvent!   Simply take a clean glass jar, peel the rind from the oranges and place all the rind/peels, without the pulp (tangerines, oranges, navels) into the jar.   Pour enough vinegar over the peels to cover them.    Allow the jar to sit for a week or two and VOILA!     You have made your own solvent for literally pennies.    You will notice the liquid getting a bit thicker than the plain vinegar and it does not smell bad!!! I now have a  HUGE jar on the window sill!       Be careful and only use this after testing on a safe spot.
