Welcome! As always, there are fun things happening with Altered Pages. We are very excited to be partnering with Sin City Stamps for the month of August. The first round of posts are going to be all things fairies. I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with.
Today, I am using a beautiful wing stamp from the Sin City Anime Fairies 2 Art Rubber Stamps collection to create an altered fairy frame. This is actually going to be a little decor item for my daughters bedroom. It is whimsical and fun, not to mention pink and black...her favorite.
I began with a simple inexpensive metal frame. I then added iridescent modeling paste for a bit of dimension and texture. I added a rhinestone trim to the wet modeling paste and let that work as my adhesive. The black blingy trim is actually part of the most recent Mailbox Muse Hollywood Glam & Horror kit. The beautiful paper that I use here was also part of that same kit. I could not resist that luxe foil paper.
My fairy wings were stamped on black cardstock using my Versa mark ink followed by black embossing powder. I then fussy cut the wings and layered them with an additional flower cut out from the foil paper. To get dimension I used mounting squares for each layer rather than flat adhesive or tape.
I then added this to my frame and began more detail work on the outside. I layered charms and crystals. My opinion here is more is more. I stopped where I did, honestly, because I had to get to sleep. HA! I just might add some more. I will let my daughter decide what else she wants, if anything. I hope you enjoyed my altered fairy frame.
I know there will be some awesome creations on the blog this month. So, don't miss a single day and check back to see what the Altered Pages gang is up to while we partner with Sin City Stamps!!!
Thanks and have a great Friday!
