What wonderful month! If you have been following this blog you know the Altered Pages Design Team is partnering with the Leaky Shed Design Team. I hope you have enjoyed all the projects so far this month... I think they have been fantastic.   Be sure to check back each day for more inspirational projects by each team.
 STEMAPUNK CANVAS
Today I want to share with you my Steampunk Canvas Board.  The image I used for the background is from the Altered Pages Steampunk & Science Collage Sheet.

The Canvas Board was covered with a generous coat of Art Anthology Acrylic Paint.

Once the Art Anthology Acrylic Paint was dry, it was sprayed with Dylusion Spray Ink. After drying ink edges with StazOn Midi Spiced Chai ink.

The Altered Pages Steampunk & Science Collage Sheet was coated with IMAGINE CRAFTS Creative Medium. Using a paper towel Dylusion Spray Ink was wiped over the image to distress. Finally it was lightly sprayed with   IMAGINE CRAFTS GooseBumps.

The Leaky Shed Ornithoper Was inked with StazOn Jet Black and heat embossed with clear embossing powder several times.

The Leaky Shed Chipboard Gears were inked with Delicata Golden Glitz the edges were gently distressed with StazOn Jet Black. Adhere to the canvas board and you have an AWESOME STEAMPUNK Canvas!

  2. Don't enter me in the contest - I have ENOUGH stuff for a while LOL - but I wanted to say how very much I enjoy your steampunk electric bird! Altered Pages may have ruined embossing for me forever now - I'm in love with the new Art Anthology dimensional paints! But what you've done here with clear embossing powder is awesome.
When I grow up, I wanna be you.
OH! - in case I haven't mentioned it - loved your interview posted yesterday. NOt surprising that you come from a creative and talented family!

Handy Tip for Artists, Recyclers and Neat Freaks! I have a follow-up to the Citra-Sol method for creating fabulous background pages and collages.   I bought a big bag of navel oranges and realized I had the ingredients to make my own solvent!   Simply take a clean glass jar, peel the rind from the oranges and place all the rind/peels, without the pulp (tangerines, oranges, navels) into the jar.   Pour enough vinegar over the peels to cover them.    Allow the jar to sit for a week or two and VOILA!     You have made your own solvent for literally pennies.    You will notice the liquid getting a bit thicker than the plain vinegar and it does not smell bad!!! I now have a  HUGE jar on the window sill!       Be careful and only use this after testing on a safe spot.
