I LOVE PLAYING WITH INK!!!!

DON'T MESS WITH MY NEST!

What a great month so far... have you been following along?  Altered Pages is partnering with IMAGINE Crafts for the month of JUNE. Both design teams have been creating AWESOME projects.  Please take the time to view each project this month!

I LOVE CREATING when I am making a mess and creating layers, today I created a collage in my Arched Door Book,  using Altered Pages collage sheets and IMAGINE Crafts products!

To start cover the page with a sheet of Vintage Text, ink the edges with IMAGINE Crafts / Tsukineko  StazOn Midi: Jet Black, St. Valentine, Spiced Chai and Claret.

Spray the page lightly with IMAGINE Crafts  irRESISTible Colored Texture Spray - Bronze.  To create dimension to the bird nest add fibers from the Mermaid Mailbox Muse Kit using the IMAGINE Crafts Creative Medium -Clear Artist's Medium, set aside to dry.  Add a bit of torn sheet music to the page.

Type the words "Don't mess with my nest" on the computer.  Cut each word out and outline them with Memento Dual Markers: Nautical Blue and Peanut Brittle! Adhere the words to the page with Nori Paste.

Fussy cut Altered Pages collage images: eggs, bird nest, ladyand letter "B" from collage sheets Modern Gals, Little Spring BirdiesAlphabet B, Vintage Bird Cards! Ink the edges of the eggs with  StazOn Midi Blue Hawaii, adhere to the page.  Distress the "B" with  StazOn Midi Spiced Chai.

Adhere the lady and birds nest to the page.  Finally , embellish the page with flowers, Dew Drops and mini pearls!
 The finished page!

Handy Tip for Artists, Recyclers and Neat Freaks! I have a follow-up to the Citra-Sol method for creating fabulous background pages and collages.   I bought a big bag of navel oranges and realized I had the ingredients to make my own solvent!   Simply take a clean glass jar, peel the rind from the oranges and place all the rind/peels, without the pulp (tangerines, oranges, navels) into the jar.   Pour enough vinegar over the peels to cover them.    Allow the jar to sit for a week or two and VOILA!     You have made your own solvent for literally pennies.    You will notice the liquid getting a bit thicker than the plain vinegar and it does not smell bad!!! I now have a  HUGE jar on the window sill!       Be careful and only use this after testing on a safe spot.
