a metal tag art pendant with IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko

As you may know, for the month of June Altered Pages is teaming with IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko to give you tons of summer time arty inspiration.  Today I have a metal art pendant to share with you, with lots of bits and pieces and fun little details:

It really almost glows, thanks to the beautiful StazOn Inks.  For this piece, I layered the Cactus Green with the Emerald Green using Ink Blushers sponges, then a layer of the GlazOn (wonderful stuff;  it prevents the stamped inks from smearing, unless of course you're like me, and too impatient to wait for anything to dry!).  Next is a layer or two of background stamping, plus a main image for each metal charm/tag--all with a thin coat of the GlazOn between each color of StazOn, a little ink around the edges for good measure, and a spritzing of Goosebumps Texture Spray for some extra shine and dimension:
Had to add one of the Transit Tokens!
Behind each metal charm is a slightly larger charm, punched from a sheet of the amazing, prism-y Vertigo film.  If you missed Roni's post, you can see more Vertigo styles HERE.

The teeny-tiny metal locket features an image transfer, made using IMAGINE craft/Tsukineko Creative Medium and an image from the Altered Pages Itty Bitties Children page.
You can see I used one another of my AP go-to items--the lightbulb safety pin--to attach the locket.

 Thank you IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko!

Be sure to check out the selection of art stamps at Altered Pages--one of my personal favorites is the French Postmark.

(For a couple more pics and a peek inside the locket, please stop by my blog.)

And don't forget about the GIVEAWAY this month--you can enter simply by leaving lots of comments here on the Altered Pages blog.  Wanna see the fine stash of giveaway goodies?  Check out this post.

Handy Tip for Artists, Recyclers and Neat Freaks! I have a follow-up to the Citra-Sol method for creating fabulous background pages and collages.   I bought a big bag of navel oranges and realized I had the ingredients to make my own solvent!   Simply take a clean glass jar, peel the rind from the oranges and place all the rind/peels, without the pulp (tangerines, oranges, navels) into the jar.   Pour enough vinegar over the peels to cover them.    Allow the jar to sit for a week or two and VOILA!     You have made your own solvent for literally pennies.    You will notice the liquid getting a bit thicker than the plain vinegar and it does not smell bad!!! I now have a  HUGE jar on the window sill!       Be careful and only use this after testing on a safe spot.
