JUNE 1 IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko Partners!

We have been waiting for this day!   IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko has the most fantastic line of products.   We at AlteredPages are proud to carry many of the Tsukineko items in our inventory.   This month will be amazing and worth seeing each day on both Blogs.   We will link to IMAGINE Crafts Blog, so please visit daily to see the incredible projects from the IMAGINE Crafts Design Team led by John Creighton Petersen.

I had so much fun deciding what to do.   I experimented with some products I had not used and will share weekly with you what I come up with.  I have another project started already and will work to complete it in steps for your viewing.

My first weekly item is a monoprint collage.   I played with fun foam and RADIANT NEON ink pads.   I liberally coated the fun foam with RADIANT NEON ink several times in two colors (electric orange and electric yellow).

I also added the Delicata Gold Glitz reinker simply dropped onto the foam.  You have to look closely, however I also used two lids to create faint circles in the ink.  I placed 80# white cardstock over the inked foam pad, brayered it firmly and pulled the print.

I found the inks juicy and rich but on the fun foam ink stays on the foam so the drying time was minimal.  I then used StazOn Claret inkpad with a DAUBER to create circles of color.  I outlined the circles with a MOMENTO Dual Tip Marker.

Again making sure all was dry since I had used the inks liberally.  (I found that most of the inks dry quickly).   I then had fun spritzing the entire piece with GOOSEBUMPS shimmer texture spray.  I really like the texture and shine Goosebumps added, it really finished off nicely.   This photo captures just how much shiny textured goodness you can create with Goosebumps!

I continued to play with fun foam and inks....on some I used just one press of the pad which created very pale prints.

Handy Tip for Artists, Recyclers and Neat Freaks! I have a follow-up to the Citra-Sol method for creating fabulous background pages and collages.   I bought a big bag of navel oranges and realized I had the ingredients to make my own solvent!   Simply take a clean glass jar, peel the rind from the oranges and place all the rind/peels, without the pulp (tangerines, oranges, navels) into the jar.   Pour enough vinegar over the peels to cover them.    Allow the jar to sit for a week or two and VOILA!     You have made your own solvent for literally pennies.    You will notice the liquid getting a bit thicker than the plain vinegar and it does not smell bad!!! I now have a  HUGE jar on the window sill!       Be careful and only use this after testing on a safe spot.
