Postcard Art

This month the design teams from Yatsumoto and Altered Pages are cross promoting products... the design team at Altered Pages has had the opportunity this month to use the Niji Waterbrush.  I must admit I was a bit reluctant to use it. Now that I have worked with the Niji waterbrush on a few projects this month, I am sold.  I really like my Niji and would will to have a few more in my tool box!
Today I decied to create on one of the new postcards available a Altered Pages!  Around the edge of the postcard I lightly applied my Gelatos.  With a damp Niji Waterbrush blend the Gelatos.  Spritz the postcard with Shimmer Mist to finish the background.  Age the My Style scrap from the Mailbox Muse Kit, with Gelaltos and Niji Waterbrush.
Fussy cut girl and cat from the Altered Pages Perfect Pets Collage Sheet glue to scrap from the Mailbox Muse Kit, adhere to card.  Add another piece to paper to anchor the card.  Give the girl a crown trimmed with Dew Drops.
Stamp Dylusions hand image on text, fussy cut and adhere to the card.  Glue the string of pearls with Tacky Glue.  Write message:  "and you wanted me to play with doll... my kitty is more fun"

Handy Tip for Artists, Recyclers and Neat Freaks! I have a follow-up to the Citra-Sol method for creating fabulous background pages and collages.   I bought a big bag of navel oranges and realized I had the ingredients to make my own solvent!   Simply take a clean glass jar, peel the rind from the oranges and place all the rind/peels, without the pulp (tangerines, oranges, navels) into the jar.   Pour enough vinegar over the peels to cover them.    Allow the jar to sit for a week or two and VOILA!     You have made your own solvent for literally pennies.    You will notice the liquid getting a bit thicker than the plain vinegar and it does not smell bad!!! I now have a  HUGE jar on the window sill!       Be careful and only use this after testing on a safe spot.
