Hi It's Jean here and I want to show off some of our items with Steampunk Potential.
I am creating a Steampunk Collage (actually one of those things I started and forgot about until I cleaned off my work table and found it again!) Aren't we all guilty of that sometimes?
I started with papers from The Glitz Laced with Grace 8x8 paper pad. (which happens to be on sale on our site) I had scraps of fabric to which I added small metal grid pieces. I printed out Collage #1732 iii and 873 and cut them apart. I also used white cardstock which I overlayed with the netting from a bag of onions and sprayed with Maya Mist. I hand cut (using our chipboard sprockets as a template) the reddish paper to create a cog/gear which I applied to the green sprayed cardstock.
I made sure to fancy cut & layer the papers for dimension. I then dismantled some found earrings and adhered with Fine Line Glue onto the papers. Using the antique Lightbulb safety pins I attached lengths of old jewelry chains for the factory or industrial feel. I added enamel head brads from my stash for accent color and to drape the chain.

This is what I found in the box of projects waiting to be finished.

It seemed unfinished. I realized that I needed to make it more cohesive, then I outlined all the papers in black to echo the background paper I chose from Glitz (12x12 Distressed Couture Blocks, discontinued).
The final touch was one more larger enameled brad at the bottom corner to reinforce the colors and circular patterns. I think I will use an orange/red marker to outline that brad.
This piece is a bit busy, but I could not stop!!!
