Vintage Angels have captured my heart!

Hi Everyone!  Danie here with you all today! With approximately three weeks to Christmas, if you are looking for wonderful ideas for your card making, decorating and gift giving you need look no further than Altered Pages. Perhaps the new Altered Pages Collection of Rubber Stamps now available in store will make the perfect gift for someone. Otherwise you can choose from ready made kits set to inspire you and loads of your favorite supply items.  There is sure to be something that catches your eye and your heart.

My heart was recently captured by a beautiful Christmas Collage Sheet featuring an assorted selection of Vintage Angels. I have been using a lot of Vintage Images for Christmas lately and am enjoying working with them, which is something I definitely wouldn't have said a few years back.  I have learned to go where my mood and art takes me and not argue.

With some layering of torn scrap papers, paper doilies, gesso and added color by way of my Gelatos I created a background to match my angels and I finished with two Gold German Scrap Scroll Corners, a further hint of gold from some mica powders, some pearls and stamped stars and sentiment.

By the way I am totally procrastinating on all the Christmas To Do List stuff at present so if you see or find my Christmas Spirit,  can you send him straight home.

Have a great week!

Danie xx

    1. Thank you Barbara, I love blue at Christmas and it was done to blend in with the colors already on the collage.

Handy Tip for Artists, Recyclers and Neat Freaks! I have a follow-up to the Citra-Sol method for creating fabulous background pages and collages.   I bought a big bag of navel oranges and realized I had the ingredients to make my own solvent!   Simply take a clean glass jar, peel the rind from the oranges and place all the rind/peels, without the pulp (tangerines, oranges, navels) into the jar.   Pour enough vinegar over the peels to cover them.    Allow the jar to sit for a week or two and VOILA!     You have made your own solvent for literally pennies.    You will notice the liquid getting a bit thicker than the plain vinegar and it does not smell bad!!! I now have a  HUGE jar on the window sill!       Be careful and only use this after testing on a safe spot.
