Christmas Gift Card Envelopes

Hello everyone!  Barbara here with my first post for December.  And what cold weather we are having this year. How about you?  Hope everyone is staying toasty warm this winter.  And to help you out with that, I have some fun gift card envelopes for you to make at home for your special friends or relatives that are hard to buy for.  And Altered Pages has all the supplies you need to make these wonderful gift presentations.

Supplies Used:

Gathered Twigs distress ink
Decorative punches (pine branch, chain)

Cover coin envelopes with print papers from the Joyeax Noel paper pad.   Cut out around the envelope and score fold lines, then glue envelopes back together.  Ink edges with gathered twigs distress ink.

For the red gift card envelope, I spritzed Dylusions white linen spray through the snowflake stencil.  Then I punched the scalloped circle doily and fussy cut Santa, adhering Santa with foam dots over the doily.  Add some white Wink of Stella ink to Santa's hat and beard.
For the green Angel gift card envelope, I first colored a piece of ribbon with watered-down Peeled Paint distress ink and tied it  around the envelope.  Then I made a drumpled ribbon rose from another piece of green dyed ribbon and adhered that over the knot.  Nextx, fussy cut the Angel and adhere to envelope with foam dots, adding a few sprigs of green print paper punched with pine branch punch and a bit of clear Wink of Stella ink to the angel.

For the brown print gift card envelope, I punched a decorative chain from brown print paper and wrapped it around envelope.  Then, flatten a bottle cap, color edges with gold Krylon pen, and adhere giant rhinestone to center of cap, gluing to envelope with a few sprigs of green print paper punched with pine branch punch.
I hope you have enjoyed this quick and easy project for your last-minute gift giving.  It makes giving a gift card so much more personal when presented in a handmade gift card envelope.  And if you still need something to give your crafty friends, there is still time to check out the fabulous products and new line of Altered Pages original art stamps, too.  So check them out and see what fabulous gift giving ideas you can come up with.  If you would like more information on how I made these envelopes, I have a full tutorial on my blog here.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a wonderful week.

Handy Tip for Artists, Recyclers and Neat Freaks! I have a follow-up to the Citra-Sol method for creating fabulous background pages and collages.   I bought a big bag of navel oranges and realized I had the ingredients to make my own solvent!   Simply take a clean glass jar, peel the rind from the oranges and place all the rind/peels, without the pulp (tangerines, oranges, navels) into the jar.   Pour enough vinegar over the peels to cover them.    Allow the jar to sit for a week or two and VOILA!     You have made your own solvent for literally pennies.    You will notice the liquid getting a bit thicker than the plain vinegar and it does not smell bad!!! I now have a  HUGE jar on the window sill!       Be careful and only use this after testing on a safe spot.
