Aloha! It's Gia posting for the first time on the Altered Pages Blog. I want to thank everyone in the AP Artsociates community, the members of the Design Team, and especially Jean for the warm welcome I have received. So far I am having a blast, and I have so much gratitude for the inspiration you provide.
Are you a hoarder of supplies like I am? Sometimes I think I love to collect pretty things as much as I love to use them. I love all the beautiful papers by Glitz Designs and Graphic 45 that Altered Pages carries. They are both listed under Paper, Books, Tins, and Boards. Sometimes I feel this guilty pleasure when I am using such high quality supplies as if I should be saving them for something special enough. I finally realized that it's okay to use them up- there will always be more where those came from!
I used paper and embellishments from Glitz Designs to make this little magnetic memo board. I also used some Paris Trunk eco-friendly ink to distress and highlight my design. I started with a square piece of metal and used my cropodile tool to punch holes to string the hanging ribbon through. I glued magnets to the backs of the Glitz Image Rhinestones which were perfect for this purpose! The finishing touch was some ruffled crepe paper trim.
Here is the complete supply list for this project available from Altered Pages online store:
Glitz card stock, patterned
Glitz image rhinestones
Glitz Paper Layers
Glitz "Glitzer" stickers
Glitz Ruffles (crepe paper)
Metal surface (you could even recycle the cover of a cookie tin or an old cookie sheet if you need a surface)
Ribbons/trims, flowers as desired. Check here for a wide variety!
I'll be back in two weeks with another post- maybe using some Graphic 45. If I can only convince myself that the gorgeous French Country and other lines are NOT "too pretty to use." You can also find me on Facebook in the Altered Pages Artsociates group or here. Click on my name below to go to The Painted Crane where I blog about altered art/mixed media, scrapbooking, inspiration, and my thrift store hauls when I find one of a kind items or supplies to use or up cycle creatively!
