Fairy Craft Stick Puzzles!

Happy Friday! It's the first Friday in July and I am already thinking about the end of the year. For the past couple of years I have been making the majority of my family's presents rather than purchasing them at a store giving my family the gift of my time and talent. I enjoy spending the time making special gifts for them and they love the time and effort put into their gifts.
Today I'm sharing with you a quick and easy little gift that my kids have loved for years and continue to love--Craft Stick Puzzles! I hope you enjoy my project too!

The process

For this project you will need:

Summer Fairies Collage Page AP639

Sakura Hobby Crafts Crystal Lacquer

Mini Craft Sticks

Paris Trunk Ink in Walnut

Attach mini craft sticks to back of digital image with Sakura
Crystal Lacquer taking care NOT to glue between the sticks.

Attach a 2nd digital image to the other side of the mini craft
sticks--you should now have the craft sticks sandwiched
between to collage images.

With a craft knife carefully cut between the sticks first one side.

Then on the back--removing each individual collage covered stick.

Sand the edges of the craft sticks, smoothing out the paper.

At this point you could stop, if you like the lightness of the
craft sticks.

The gift

I prefer the look of edged craft sticks so it used my Paris
Trunk ink to edge each stick.

We usually wrap a simple piece of raffia or twine around the bundle of puzzle pieces. This is a super simple gift for classes too--a fun vintage image of Santa or a snowman and they would be perfect stocking stuffers. My kids will play with these for hours dropping the sticks and reassembling the pieces over and over again! Thank you for looking!!
