Recipe Re-Do

Hey all, Kelli here with the beginnings of a recipe box re-do.  I started this box for my daughter a while ago and recently decided to re-do the outside.  It started out as a box decked out in things you would find in Paris because that is one of her fascinations.  The further along I got into the box the more I realized that the theme might not go with her kitchen as she gets older so I thought…. well everyone loves vintage, and if they don’t they should!  LOL..Anyway I started redecorating the outside of the box with collage sheets from AlteredPages, From the Kitchen with Love AP775D and Cookbook covers AP907D to be exact.  So far I am loving the look of it and want one for myself!

See the Paris theme I am covering…while it looked awesome I just don’t think it would last like the vintage styles would…I could be wrong but I like the new look!
Don’t forget to head over to AlteredPages to check out the kits over there!!!

  1. Great idea and another good use of collage images! You can cover most anything. Use a removable collage image for a candle wrap by pinning to the candle or gluing to itself. Change that neutral candle for each holiday or season!

  2. Very cute Kelli!

The Paris theme did look cool but I think you're right about these nifty vintage cooking images. Timeless!

Handy Tip for Artists, Recyclers and Neat Freaks! I have a follow-up to the Citra-Sol method for creating fabulous background pages and collages.   I bought a big bag of navel oranges and realized I had the ingredients to make my own solvent!   Simply take a clean glass jar, peel the rind from the oranges and place all the rind/peels, without the pulp (tangerines, oranges, navels) into the jar.   Pour enough vinegar over the peels to cover them.    Allow the jar to sit for a week or two and VOILA!     You have made your own solvent for literally pennies.    You will notice the liquid getting a bit thicker than the plain vinegar and it does not smell bad!!! I now have a  HUGE jar on the window sill!       Be careful and only use this after testing on a safe spot.

Full Circle

Hi all! Becky here today! I have been in a circle-mood lately & have been doing circles on everything! So why not do some circles with some of my Gelli Prints??? Here's a simple little card I made using 4 different circle punches, a black pen & some previously made Gelli prints! Hope you're enjoying Springtime in your area! Cheers!
