Pretty in Pink

Growing up I used to be a pink kind of girl.  My room was pink, I wore a lot of pink...pink was in with me, but then as I got older my color choices changed.  Now, I'm the odd number out because I'm the only girl in the house.  Yes, I'm out numbered, but I'm finding the girly girl inside of me again and have been letting it show in what I've been creating.  I'm in my pink mood again!  When I found the Think Pink collage sheet from Altered Pages, I knew I had to create a card from one of them and one is just the beginning because you get so many collages on the page you will have to use them all like I will be doing.  I, also, wanted to give it a worn distressed look like an old card would have so once I distressed the edges I used the Sepia Paris Ink Pad that Altered Pages carries to add to the worn look.  Did you know the Paris Ink Pads are eco-friendly?  How fantastic is that?  Be sure to check them out.  Earth Day is just around the corner it's a great way to give back to the environment to use something that is safe for it.

  1. WOW, so girlie and feminine. It could be for a grand daughter or female friend if you left off the "Lovely Dovey" sentiment too. My Mom is 82 and is still a little pink girl. She always says "Grandmas are just antique little girls".

Handy Tip for Artists, Recyclers and Neat Freaks! I have a follow-up to the Citra-Sol method for creating fabulous background pages and collages.   I bought a big bag of navel oranges and realized I had the ingredients to make my own solvent!   Simply take a clean glass jar, peel the rind from the oranges and place all the rind/peels, without the pulp (tangerines, oranges, navels) into the jar.   Pour enough vinegar over the peels to cover them.    Allow the jar to sit for a week or two and VOILA!     You have made your own solvent for literally pennies.    You will notice the liquid getting a bit thicker than the plain vinegar and it does not smell bad!!! I now have a  HUGE jar on the window sill!       Be careful and only use this after testing on a safe spot.
