Good Evening and welcome to Altered Pages! Susan back with another gorgeous reveal using image transfers that I created using Altered Pages Digital Download Collage Sheets and Sakura 3D Crystal Lacquer. I hope you have been having a wonderfully creative day!
This image transfer was made using the Altered Pages Tiffany Windows AP-493 Collage Sheet. Please CLICK HERE to see instructions on how I made the image transfer shown.
Here's where I left off earlier today after applying image transfer to mirror base.
**A NOTE** I did attempt to adhere an image transfer to the mirror glass and it would not adhere to the glass. I'll have to tinker around with this to see what will work.
Using double sided adhesive, I applied an ornate woven gold trim around outer edge of mirror.
Then I added a jewelry finding that is meant for having three dangling strands from. I used wire cutters to clip the loops off and sanded the edges away. I adhered this over the hole in my mirror handle. I added a cluster of beads on a headpin and stitched to the base of the handle.
I covered the stitching with Crystal Lacquer and pressed in crushed glass seed beads. I also filled in the rest of the handle with crushed glass seed beads. I placed seed beads in a ziplock, then wrapped in a towel and took a hammer to them on the concrete floor of my garage. It's messy - but it didn't take a lot to get what I needed AND it was the perfect amount of sparkle to coordinate with my lovely peacock.
Presenting my drab to fab
"Altered Peacock Mirror"!!!
