This Day of the Dead project  took a while but it was so much fun . Sabor papers were used as a base and The Crafters Workshop  Floating City by Art by Marlene  piece I did earlier this month was the backdrop for some photos.                  Welcome Good Friends Celebrate Each of the Sabor 12 x 12 sheets was cut and used as individual cards.  Embellishing them was so very much fun.   I used AlteredPages collage sheets and created words that were printed and cut out.  One of those times to grab all the stuff you may have in drawers or bins.  Fibers, buttons, washi tape, gems all have some room on these festive cards! I have my favorites, but choose which are your favorites and say so in the comments below!   I used both glue and double-sided tape to assemble the pieces, always doing a layout BEFORE gluing! This is such a fun time of year with the Fall colors outside and Halloween decorations inside.  And then there is Dia de los Muertos!  The Day of the Dead celebrations use color with wild abandon.  Sugar Skulls and flowers burst with a rainbow of color. The Altered Pages Design Team is highlighting stencils by The Crafters Workshop and I couldn't be happier.  Today I have used a Celtic Knot design by Carmen Medllin .  This beautiful stencil is 6 x 6, which makes it the perfect size for many different projects like cards, canvases or art journals.  To start my rainbow of color I used several different dye ink pads and added patches of color randomly to the stencil.  Because this is a large pattern and I didn't want to risk shifting the stencil I used painters tape to hold it in place on my card stock. Carefully peel the tape off and remove the stencil to reveal the pattern. I opted to keep the pattern intact so I trimmed the design to 5 3/...

The Design Team and yes, including across the pond,  has been having fun with spooky creations.  This journal page was created using scraps stamps, paint and the colorful Altered Pages collage sheet DAY of  the DEAD downloaded from Altered Pages.  June Mac had a great time with our collages.  Stay tuned for stenciling! Day of the Dead is one of my favorite themes to create! The holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died.  Since losing several family members it has a special place in my heart now.  SABOR has wonderful papers to use for the celebrations.
