With Lace and Love

Creating a little something today with this month's theme of Lace and next month's theme of Love in mind.  It's a bit like how we approach the New Year combining the old with the New. Anyhow the old was also incorporated into this creation by using my previously made Gel Prints where I had used Lace as a Texture Tool . The vintage feel of the Lace Print was a perfect match for the Vintage Valentine's Image from the Victorian Valentine Collage Sheet.  I teamed these items with some Lace and a Wisteria/Orchid Toned Card Base.  Did you know that this shade of Purple is often associated with Romance and Sweet Emotion? So with a simple layering of all the elements I had a completed card in no time at all! And in no time at all we will be in the New Year!  I hope you all have a Great 2018! Danie xx

Sacred Angel of Tuna

OK, so that's pretty crazy! Actually, my project uses an angel and a tuna can! This angelic diorama came to be due to my choosing of a pescatarian  diet (vegetarian allowing fish).   I have been wanting to make dioramas but simply did not get around to it (that's a bad pun in the whole tuna can thing!) Chicken of the Sea came to my rescue. I cleaned the can and removed the label.  I painted the interior and around the rim with chalk paint tinted with interference paint.  While the paint was still wet I coated it with iridescent glitter. I used a fancy cut angel from collage # 669 and created a stand so it would be 3 dimensional inside the 'heavenly sphere'.   I cut a small piece of ruffled lace and folded it over to create a cushion for the base of the angel's stand.  I used E6000 to apply the lace securely.   I then covered the exterior of the can with flat lace and an overlay of ruffled lace sprayed and sprinkled with glitter.     I was thinki

Vintage decor for the New Year

Hello, I hope you enjoyed the Christmas Holiday! Today, I have a sweet little vintage style lady done in tones of purple and green with a touch of paleness in her skin tone to represent the Winter, with the hope of Spring to come. I will also apologize, briefly, for the photo quality as my cell phone is my current camera. I just moved house and can not find the cable to my good one.. Go figure ;o)  Enjoy. Supplies:   Wooden hanger Lace and ribbon Doll head or Prima Arts and Relics Acrylic Paint Metallic rub Rhinestone cup chain Miscellaneous jewelry bits, but you need at least ONE bead cap . Adhesive     I am using a resin paintable piece Prima Arts and Relics , however you could use a china doll head, or even a large floral pin, cabochon, decorative wood piece or really, any kind of statement piece you can attach a bead cap to. Here, I begin my initial layout of how the pieces will go together. I painted the hanger with a creamy white, watered do
