Cookin' with SABOR

Hi guys, Jean here today, it's SUNDAY. First, I must say....Our Design Team Artists are truly creating spectacular projects this month.   Please comment to let them know you appreciate their work. Everyone enjoys a pat on the back, it feels GOOD! My plan is to create a cookbook with Sabor papers for this week and next.        I do very much like to cook and entertain, always have from the time I was a kid and experimented in Mom's kitchen, doesn't every kid make poached pear crepes for her sleepovers? We hold all sorts of parties, Pie Fest in the Fall, Shrimp Boil in the Spring, birthday bashes for friends......  and just good old Bunco, cards and 'it's time for wine' gatherings!   I am using Sabor papers to make my cookbook festive and visually fun.    I like to use three ring binders so that I can add new items as I choose in plastic sleeves. I personalize and give some of these as wedding shower or housewarm...

A hostess gift that will please!

Howdy, Jean here today with a very timely solution to my need for a hostess gift this weekend. We are invited to a Mexican Fiesta dinner with a crowd of friends.   Our hosts always provide fabulous food, conversation and importantly ~ awesome decor! I purchased a beautifully green plant and a tin container.    Being that this was a festive event, I wanted to really dress it up and guess what.....?    SABOR to the rescue!   Begin with a Skewer or Chopstick and paint it any color you wish to coordinate with your papers (or leave natural). HAVE FUN AND KEEP ADDING MORE LAYERS AND BAUBLES I choose several SABOR papers , you can use floral templates to cut various sizes.   One handed cutting is not easy....I took off my hard cast and tried cutting but opted for my silhouette which went a bit faster!  Taking it over the top is always the best way to go in my opinion!   Make the 'flowers' as ful...

Down the rabbit hole

Hi Everyone, Jess here with an Alice themed tag.   I had this fairy stamp from  Fairie Song Stamps  and I wanted to use just the mushrooms.  I used my Staz On ink to stamp the mushrooms onto shrink plastic.   Once the ink was dry I colored in my images using colored pencils.  I poked holes in the top of the mushrooms, but didn't end up using the holes. I used my heat gun to shrink the images and set them aside.  Notice how intense the colors are! I always keep that in mind when I use shrink plastic.   I cut my Alice  image out and changed the words on her tag from "Drink Me" to "Eat Me."  I glued a tiny mushroom onto her hand and set the image aside. To make my background I used a dye ink and stencil.  Once I had the entire tag covered I shifted the image and covered up what I had just inked leaving the manila exposed.  I used a second ink color and then my whole tag was covered! It's a super easy way...

Will you be my Valentine?

Hi, Jess here! Vintage Valentine's are the best. The have awesome graphics and super sweet sentiments.  I used an image from the  With My Love  sheet.  I blew this one image up and printed it on a heavy card stock. (OR YOU CAN ORDER YOURS PRINTED) Once it was fussy cut, I used a very fine silver glitter to pick up some highlights. ( WINK OF STELLA ) I had some small heart stickers with sentiments (OR YOU CAN ORDER STICKERS)   that matched this little guy perfectly.  I used a memo pin and glued them together using my hot glue gun.  (or you can use a sturdy cocktail pick)  I poked the pin through the card stock so he appears to be holding the pin. I made a GIANT crepe paper flower.  I used the same technique is showed you how to do here . I needed to make my guy pop off the flower, so in came the mountain of foam tape.  I cut a ton of tape and just kept stacking it until I had enough to reach the top of the f...
