Forbidden Love

Happy Friday!  Today I have a different kind of Valentine to share.  This poor brave knight wishes to give his love a rose for Valentine's Day, but a dragon has other ideas. We are partnered this month with Faerie Songs Art Stamps and I have two fabulous dragon stamps to play with.  I began by using Art Anthology paint on a piece of card stock.  I brushed and tamped the paint onto the paper so that there was a random pattern.  Then I used pigment ink to stamp the dragon and used clear embossing powder to set the ink.  The paint gave him a wonderful color and shine!  After cutting him off of his cloud, a white Uniball gel pen was used to highlight his eyes and teeth.  Maya Mist paint was sprayed into a paint palette and thin brush was used to paint over his ridged back.  The Maya Mist is shiny and worked well over the other paint. Upcycle Project - Cheese Box to Gift Box

“Have you laughed today?”   That’s the question that Laughing Cow cheese asks.   Hopefully, your answer is yes!   Laughing is so important…and in my world so is cheese.   Ha-ha-ha.   But what do you do with the box that these little yummy wedges come in.   In the past, I’ve tossed it into the recycle bin.   This time, I peeled off the labels and thought I’d play with it.   There are two collage images from Altered Pages that I have been looking forward to using.   One is a dragon in flight and the other is a beautiful Oriental background in neutral colors.   I chose the Spiced Chai and Emerald City StazOn inks and copper Maya Mist spray.   I rubbed the entire box with the brown ink and then added some green here and there.   The box had labels on top, bottom and all around the side which left rough spots on the otherwise smooth cardboard.   This gave the box a rustic look once the ink was added and I loved i...

Oriental Dreaming

Hi Everyone!  It's Danie here today.  Are you a lover of all things Oriental.  I am!  There is just something about the tranquility, wisdom and  beauty of this culture that draws me in.  I collect Oriental Themed ATC's and today thought I would share with you a couple of Note Cards I have made using the wonderful background collages and oriental inspired images from Altered Pages. The Collage Sheets I have used for this include AP-2118 Year of the Dragon AP-2205 Chinese Cherry and Bamboo AP-460 Japenese Text AP-314 Geisha AP-1724 Collage Backgrounds Oriental Japenese Yuzen/Washi Papers and Graphic 45 Papers from the Birdsong Collection have also been used on these cards.  I had the Japenese Papers already in my stash, but Altered Pages sells these also in their Asian Dream Pack here .  Cherry Blossoms and Dragonflies are one of my favorite things related to this culture.  To the Japanese the Cherry Blossom symbol...
