Treasure Maps

Happy Friday!  I made a fun pirate card using three mini map stamps from Lost Coast Designs.   The set contains three Old World maps in a size that is perfect for artist trading cards.  I combined them all on one card to help my pirate find his way. Look at the fine detail on this map.  The fine print can be easily read and the fine lines on the map stamp clean.  All of their stamps are fine quality. For this card, I stamped each of the three map images on ivory paper and water-colored the images using Gelatos and a water pen.  I used the brush right on the pigment to pull small amounts of color at a time.  The same colors were used on each of the maps to give them a vintage feel. The layered design left spaces on the card base so I covered the entire card with the same colors as the maps to allow the design to blend together nicely. The pirates are from the Altered Pages Ahoy Matey collage shee t and four little alphabet tags . ...

Silhouette and Gelatos

I love stamping... funny I don't do enough of it these days... I am really enjoying this month working with Altered Pages partner Lost Coast Designs!!!   Today I want to share a technique I LOVE to do.  You never know what the outcome will be, which makes the surprise ending such a treat in itself! I am using the unmounted Grunge Tree from   Lost Coast Designs stamps. It is a background stamp, measuring 4 x 5 1/4. Today I am using as my focal stamp.  Supplies Lost Coast Designs Stamp Acrylic Block Double Sided Tape Waterbrush Gelatos - assorted colors Black ink Waterc olor Paper Water To start wet a piece of watercolor paper using a  Waterbrush . Fairy Valentine

Hi Everyone, Jess here with a tiny fairy card.       I stamped my Faeire Song Art Stamps fairy image with  Staz-On  so when I water colored the image it would not smear.     I used my  waterbrush  on my craft sheet to work the color onto my fairy image.  Once the image was colored I fussy cut it.     I colored a white doily using an ink stain and dried it with my heat gun.  I like that the color is uneven.       The body of the card is a traditional card size, but I tore a strip off the side and inked it fading the color toward the center of the card.  A basic tan doily is layered under the stained doily.       I used some  stickles  to some of the flowers and hearts.  Vintage flowers add a touch of whimsy to complete the card.   I hope you enjoy her.
