You hold the key

Hello friends.  It's Robin today with another fun little project for anyone with school-aged children.  I made this key fob specifically with teachers in mind, but you could easily adapt this for other uses.  When I was in school, teachers kept the supply cabinet or rest room keys on a block of wood so that we kids wouldn't lose them.  That's where this idea was born. If you have ever bought a container of blank recordable CDs you have probably noticed the blank at the bottom.  This disc-like piece of plastic is there to protect the discs until you're ready to use them.  But what do you do with it when the package is empty?  You could certainly pitch it into your recycle bin.  But if you are into upcycling at all, you might want to be a little more creative. I chose to use the School Rules! collage sheet and printed it a couple of times just in case I needed duplicates for any reason.  I cut out all of the cartoon school images.  There are really nice

Durable Card for Father's Day

Hi Everyone Danie back with my second post for August.  As you know this month the team have been focusing on projects with Fall in mind.........being on the other side of the world we are actually approaching our Spring so it is with September in the Southern Hemisphere in mind I am creating today. Here in Australia we celebrate Father's Day on the first Sunday of September. I am going back to basics using lots of papers from the Authentique Durable 6 x 6 Paper Pad layered together for a quick make. This paper pad is perfect for male projects with manly colors, patterns and images which also match the Scrabble Tiles on the Scrabble Tiles Collage Sheet perfectly. The image of the car was cut from one of the papers, and I inked all edges with Coffee Bean Brillance Ink and popped up the tiles spelling out DAD just so we all know who the card is for and I popped up the car too. Speaking of cars I am now (as I write this post) about to jump in mine and head away for a

With the end of August comes the last of the vacations, school shopping, change in weather and we get to scrap the pictures from summer.  Today I am sharing a card, but is could also be a part of a great scrapbook page.  I am sure if you traveled anyplace with kiddos in the car they were asking every few minutes... are we there yet?   Supplies: Jolee's Stickers Twine Graphic 45 Secret Garden (Dark Green & Blue Pattern) Brown & Light Green Cardstock Corrugated  Cardboard Glue Stick Card Base   First, die cut the trees from green & brown papers, then adhere them to the Corrugated  Cardboard  with Glue Stick .  Cut a strip of  Graphic 45 Secret Garden (blue pattern paper) and adhere to the bottom of the   Corrugated  Cardboard .  Wrap twine around the bottom of the Corrugated  Cardboard  and tie knot off to the left.    Adhere Jolee's Stickers  to the card on the blue pattern paper (road).   The Jolee's at Altered Pages are a great

Nimble Fall Lantern

Nimble Fall Lantern...?  What am I making, a lantern that likes to jump over candle sticks?  Nope!  Although it will have a wonderful warm candle lit glow when all done.  See...... With the help of  Alteredpages.com my lantern IS nimble in that one month it will help usher in Fall.  The next month (with a few added spooky bits) it is ready for Halloween.  And, the month after that it will work perfectly for Thanksgiving.   Here is how... Start with amazing Fall collage images found Here and Here.   These are the two that I used, but there are many more to choose from so take a look around the Fall category found Here .  I ordered digital collage sheets and printed them on velum.  If you don't have vellum, Altered Pages can print for you on vellum (and other card stock options) and ship them out right away.  Next, tear up tons of vintage text pages, found Here . Then, grab a cute glass vase that you have lying around.  I picked this one up long ago from the dollar
