We will be celebrating Father's Day with my father-in-law... we always take him to breakfast or make one of his favorites at home.  He knows what he is getting... a homemade card and a stack of vintage postcards!   His card this year is a simple one made with a sentiment from Altered Pages collage sheet "DAD's ARE GRAND" and a GYPSY SOUL LASER CUTS hot air balloon!       Dad a couple of years ago at breakfast on Father's Day!       A few day ago I shared how I cover chipboard with embossing powder.  Today I am using Gold Leaf .  First, cover the chipboard with adhesive, today I used a very thin coat of  Tacky Glue ... let it set a minute or tow so it is just tacky.     Cover the glued chipboard with Gold Leaf  and burnish gently with your fingers... using a soft paint brush gently remove the excess.   If there are any sections missing Gold Leaf , apply Tacky Glue ...

Hi everyone!  Barbara here today with a sweet Fathers' Day card from a daughter.  I used both   Altered Pages  products with those from our partner,  Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts !  I think they make a fabulous combination. Cut out little girl image (your choice) from the  Chubby Cheeks Collage Sheet . Paint Gypsy Soul flourished frame with a combination of  Liquitex Gesso  and  Rouge Chalk Paint  to make a pretty pink to match the flowers in the picture.   (Tip:  Use a blending tool or a makeup sponge to add paint to laser cut chipboard.  It makes it easier to cover the chipboard without filling up the openings with paint). Trim picture and glue to back of frame. Cut a piece of Authentique Accomplished paper to 4-7/8" x 6-1/2".  If you leave the white border on the paper piece, you will get an extra 1/2", and I used a decorative edge punch to make it look like lace.  Cut the top portion of this ...

Dad's can be BIG or Dad's can be small, but in the end, we love them all! Take a moment to hug your Dad, if he's here or if he's not.   Each of our Father's was unique to us.  My Dad was a Trainman for the mighty steel mills in Pittsburgh, PA born, raised and died.    Comment and tell us what your Dad did or what was your favorite memory. I am so happy that I have his Trainman's Book of Rules which was given to him by an old Trainman by the name of Harry.   The leather cover is well worn with yellowed pages, but a true treasure.    I got the pewter conductor statue in Key West, FL where railroad history is very rich.   A rail line was completed in 1912 connecting the keys to the mainland and for the first time, all of the keys were connected to each other as well.    Dad never saw Florida but his life was full of adventure.  He served in the Navy on a Battleship in the Pacific in WWII.   And he finally visit...
