Prissy Witchy

Not every Witch is ugly & dark. I am here today to prove that theory with a prissy missy Witch. I began with the darling Witch Poo wooden hat from Foundations Decor, it comes complete with a playful spider! The raw wood is high quality, fully sanded and ready to go. Paint, paper, inks, Gel Press monoprints all work with the delightful project.  I thought that we should give a good vibe to the gal who will wear this hat.  Therefore...glitter and prissy was in my mind.   BUT  there is also a dark side to this project.  Good Witch or Bad Witch?                               Paint the hat and both sides of the spider with black paint Use Aleenes glue to sporadically place glitter Sprinkle one side with very fine iridescent pink  Sprinkle remaining with med. weight black glitter Coat hat band with med. weight pink glitter & add a gem. Coat one side of spide...

Fun Fall leaves with Foundations Decor

Hello again! How about all this crazy weather? I am sending out prayers to all those affected and yet to be affected by these horrible storms. I hope this post finds everyone safe and sound. This week, I decorated this sweet little set of Fall leaves and an acorn, from Foundations Decor. Here is how:   SUPPLIES: Foundations Décor - Falling Woods Leaves Acrylic paint Paper Ephemera or collage components Adhesive Craft knife Paint brush (disposable foam brush) My supplies at the ready! I have all sorts. Fall theme papers, quotes and ephemera. First, I glued the papers I chose, to the wood pieces. I did my layout first with the bare pieces to see how I wanted everything to sit. Since I wanted the words to be readable, this piece was glued at an angle so that when it was set into place, the lines of text are visible. I fussy cut around the edges of the piece with a craft knife. I laid the paper on the table, glued wood piece to it, wait...

Foundations Decor and monoprint book covers

Not sure what the theme of this little book will be, but I'm leaning towards using butterflies--can you picture a pretty one right in the center of the flower shaped cover?  Here's how this little book came to be . . . First, I stacked two Foundations Décor flowers, clamped them down, and drilled holes in three of the petals.  It turns out that two would have been sufficient, but I wasn't sure how I'd be stitching them together. Next, I glued a gel print on the front, but of course forgot to take a pic!  The Xacto knife you see in the background was instrumental in trimming the paper from between those petals. The inside of the flowers needed a little something as well, so I used paints similar in color to the gel print.  Most of this won't show after the pages of the book are added. The pages 2 1/4 inches wide, cut from a nice off white paper, accordion folded, and then glued together, but leaving wiggle room for the book to open.  Since ...
