A Day at the Beach Mini Album

Hi everyone! It's me,  Tonya  and I am here to share a mini journal I created for an upcoming trip to the beach. I wanted something that was small and wouldn't take up much space and that I could use my Instax printer to print off 2"x3" photos.   You will need a 6"x9" clasp envelope as the base or cover for your mini album. I removed the reinforcement around the hole and the clasp. I used a page from the  Vintage Text Pages pack ,  Before Bikinis collage sheet ,  1821D Vintage Words collage sheet,  235  Summer Words collage sheet,  Uncharted Waters 8"x8" Glitz Paper Pad  which I used thru out the mini along with  Security Paper  to create the outside cover and inside pages. I measured the spine of the mini and found the center which I then punched a tiny hole. Then I cut 10 inches of 3mm elastic trim, folded in half and run thru and tie off on the inside cover. Next I measure an inch in on one end and a inch and a half on the

Summertime Card

Today I want to share a project using products from both  Altered Pages  and  Stencil 1 . There were three two-part butterflies in this stencil set, and as promised, I am going to show you how I used the third butterfly stencil.  I have tried to vary the techniques, and my previous posts can be viewed by clicking here for the  first post , and here for the  second post . My project today is a layered, collaged card.  Cut yellow card stock to 5-1/2" x 11", folded in half to make a 5-1/2" square card.  Cut two  frames , one larger than the other, from blue and yellow houndstooth card stock. Cut a third piece from gray print to measure 2-1/2" by 5-1/2"; punch one edge with Trellis punch.  Adhere all three pieces, as shown in photo above. Trace open butterfly onto yellow print paper with a pencil. Align matching detail butterfly stencil over penciled image and apply Versamark ink through openings. Heat emboss with black puff embossing powder.  Trim bu

Layered Lotus Blossom

Greetings everyone!  Today I'm sharing a quick layering project.  You can use this paper tole technique with everything from stencils, to stamps, to our own Altered Pages  graphic collage images. On a 6x6 canvas board , I sponged turquoise paint through the main stencil over a purple background.  It's a textured canvas so I didn't get a crisp line. With the outline part of my Stencil 1 , I cut out three lotus blossoms in different hues of pink to mimic how light shining on the flower would give the petals different hues.  Then I used the detail part of the stencil to sponge on the petals.  I didn't bother to ink them all completely because Part of each was discarded. Once the layers were cut out and glued together I used the detail stencil to blend the three layers together in a few places where my cut lines showed too much. I let the rough outline of turquoise show to act like the flower's shadow. It's a quick project today, but it's

a glorious muse . . .

(Well, maybe not for you, but we'll see--we all have our "thing", right?) A nice little teacup shape, some modeling paste and paint with the help of a Stencil1 stencil, and you know what, this one needed glitter: Add the glorious Altered Pages muse: Each cup of tea holds a glorious muse. She's a refrigerator magnet, believe it or not.  What can I say--I really like tea!  Couldn't let the extra bit of tinted paste go to waste, so added it (via the Stencil1 stencil, also) to a Gelli print scrap: All ready for a few atcs.   (As usual, if you're interested, there is a little more info on my blog .) So, what's your glorious muse today?   Happy Thursday, everyone! :)trisha       GIVEAWAY   NOW for our giveaway! Easel Cards and Stencil 1

Easel Cards Easel cards are a nice change up from the normal card design.  It allows the card to become 3-D. Below are instructions for a twisted easel card.   Start with a 4.5x9 inch of scrapbook paper. Fold in half.  Then fold corner to corner on top half.   This fold allows the card to stand up....as in easel stand. It twists so it stands at an angle.  Makes for an interesting presentation.  By adding a chipboard piece the card is propped so it stays in one position. These cards are great for invitations, welcoming a new baby, and happy birthdays.   Add images, flowers, and Altered pages partner this month is Stencil 1.  There are many great selections to add images or words to your easel creations. I hope you give it a try! SUPPLIES: Collage sheets: Easter Children   Glitz Paper   Petaloo Flowers Stencil 1 Sayings      GIVEAWAY   NOW for our giveaway! Stencil 1 will provide a FAB stenci
