Journal Box by Debi Tullier I love repurposing things and this time I am using a packing box. It is small and I think it is perfect for a little book holder. Here is my Journal Box or for my grand-daughter. She loves animals and her favorites are Cats. However a sweet little pup has made her life complete for now.   She wants to write about herself and her pets so why not a journal box. Happy Friday everyone! I wanted to share with you today this beaded charm necklace that I created as part of a design team application this spring for Graphic 45. While I did not get selected for the team, I had a great many comments on the beauty of this necklace and wanted to share with you the wonderful products that I used to make if that are available right here in the Altered Pages Store. Jean carries the 8×8 pads of many of the Graphic 45 collections...I love them because they are double sided and makes finishing the backs of the charms super simple. She also carries the new 6×6" pads of the solids and pattern papers that were used to create the beads...a super size when creating beads--the larger beads here are from 6" long strips and the smaller from 4" long strips. The lacquer available in the store is a fantastic all-purpose glue for this project as well as a sealer. And the Paris Trunk Ink is my favorite "aging" ink with its smooth soft finish. I...

One of my favorite parts of art journalling and mixed media art is what I call "following the art." I have talked to the AlteredPages.com owner Jean about this a number of times over the past year. What happens is I will have a plan in my head of how I want something to progress and I will sit down to do that project but the end product that I had in mind is not where I end up...I "follow the art." That is how this project began. I initially wanted to attempt to replicate a technique done with other products and see if I could make it with products available at alteredpages.com. The main difference being that rather than using resin, I was using lacquer. Now before you go and say "well there's your problem," here's my reasoning...I can get the resin look with lacquer successfully, I think in this particular technique it should work in a similar fashion...so let's give it a whirl. Hi Everyone it's Danie here today, with a Christmas Tag to share with you all, created using up some of my paper scraps and a bottle cap. I have been working on a number of projects for Christmas using the Graphic 45 Christmas Emporium Papers from Altered Pages and had some bits of these delightful papers left over so I thought I would make some tags.  I started by taking a Manilla Tag  and using this as a template cut out the same shape from a piece of the Blue Snowflake Paper.  To this I have stamped and embossed some white snowflakes and added a small clear rhinestone to the center of each snowflake.  I then inked the edges with some Paris Trunk Walnut Ink and adhered to the Manilla Tag.  For the center of my tag I have layered some Gold Metallic Ribbon and Natural Colour Netting under a scrap of the Toy Paper. Welcome to Altered Pages - hope you are enjoying your weekend! Susan here and now that November is upon us, Christmas card creating and handmade holiday gift making is in full swing. Today I am sharing a Christmas Card I made using a single digital vintage image from AlteredPages.com . This is a vintage Christmas greeting { AP single 601 } of a holiday storefront window. I printed out four copies onto a matte finish white cardstock. Four copies are enough so that I can accent and dimensionalize the base layer, then accent sections of the figures that I cut out and raise with foam pop dots for a faux 3-D effect. I accented the details using different colors of the  Terri Sproul Mixers  and also made the window dimensional by painting with  Sakura 3D Crystal Lacquer .
