Happy Sunday to all! We got in the Spring mood and made this lovely Spring decor piece to celebrate the season of fresh, renewed, happy colors and a desire for sunny days! We started with a blank wooden die cut.   You could choose paper from the wonderful USArtQuest selection of fabulous papers, gluing some Mica DeLites with PPA (Perfect Paper Adhesive) directly onto the paper for a subtle shimmery background.  In this case, I had a lovely paper from Robin's Nest.   This paper was set aside to dry while we painted the wood with some Dixie Belle Chalk Paints  - color buttercream.    The next step was to paint and add Mica DeLites to small wooden die cuts of flowers and butterflies.   Allow them to dry as well.    Next, glue the small shape pieces onto the face of the sign, placing them to create an eye appealing layout. HELLO LOVELY READERS ~ I AM SHARING CREATIVE SPRING THEMED WOOD BLOCK PROJECTS TODAY.    We had a class for Spring wood blocks this past week.  I was blown away by the creativity of the participants.   We provided the basic parts and pieces and let them have at it!   One of the girls is so afraid of creating and wound up with an awesome out of the box creation!  This is one of my projects ~ We began with raw wood blocks  3.5" x 4.5"  I also added a brand new copper penny and a yellow ceramic butterfly plus the glass knob.  More blocks, with a Shabby look The wood was painted in an array of Spring colors using  DecoArt / Americana paints . Some girls used sandpaper to soften the edges of the blocks after paint was applied.  This provided a lovely shabby effect. Hi everyone! It's me  Tonya  and I am here to share a lamp shade I altered with MD Hobby and Craft Chicken Wire and  Maps  I turned into flowers to add a vintage charm to the shade. I started with this old and tired lamp shade that use to hang in my dining room until I replaced with another light fixture. I had held onto this thinking that I might be able to use it for something later on. I am so glad I did!!! After removing the fabric this was left with a metal frame. The chicken wire comes folded in half and rolled up. I had my husband help by holding while I cut with wire cutter in the fold and with determining how much to cut off the roll. Also it might be a good idea that if you don't have a "holder" to help  wear gloves because the wires do have sharp edges. I know...ouch! First make sure you have long enough wire that will wrap around the frame on all sides. Now begin wrapping each wire to the frame with needle nose plier...
