a little mail art with Altered Pages and The Robin's Nest

You may know I really enjoy creating my own collage backgrounds, and Altered Pages  keeps me well supplied with a huge variety of ephemera with their Vintage Text Collections . However, if you've ever made backgrounds like this, you may know that it can be difficult to stamp on them.   While this is great for some effects, sometimes I want a clean, polished look. FOUND IT.  The Robin's Nest   has some beautiful rub-ons, and they are perfect for applying over bumpy, collaged papers, like in this mail-art postcard: featuring Altered Pages Vintage Text Collection and collage image Viva Rub-On from The Robin's Nest It applied like a dream over all those "seams," and the color is gorgeous. Have a great weekend, everyone! :)trisha

Fun with Art Anthology Sorbet Acrylics

Hey there, Barbara here with an extra project to share with you this month.  For this post, I wanted to share some tips and techniques using a new product at Altered Pages called Art Anthology Sorbet dimensional acrylics.   I started out with a blank manila tag, but I could not stop at just showing you the techniques on the tag.  I had to finish it, and here is the result. Supplies: AP 467 Mystic Asian collage sheet Vintage Text Pages Art Anthology Sorbet Dimensional Paint :  Kenyan Copper, Blue Eyes, Mint Julep, Kona, Red Velvet, Orchid Dylusions Diamond Border stencil Manila Tags The Robin' Nest Chocolate dew drops Blue/green cardstock (8" x 9-/4") Distress ink:  Vintage Photo Punches:  Hydrangeas, Mini Butterflies, Sakura (Martha Stewart) Brush a coat of Kenyan Copper over tag and let dry.  The little flecks you see in the photo are glitter.  (TIP:  I found that dampening my brush with a bit of water allowed me to brush on a smoother coat.)

Spring Shadow Box

When the weather is sunny and warm here in the south the urge to plant bulbs and flowers is strong. Everyone is outside. When I can't get outside I like to make art. This shadow box is something I created for Easter/Spring .  I used a great mix of robin's Nest and Altered Pages products . Collage sheet, cut paper flowers from paper pads, ribbon. Rub on's and a cute butterfly from Robins Nest . I added in the banner and the "Robin's nest".. Happy creating! Melanie Statnick
