Wedding bells will soon ring for Mr. and Mrs. Lowe.    Kaitlin and Wesley will be married on May 4, 2018 (May the 4th be with you for any Star Wars fans out there).   I decided to blog about one of the gifts I will give to the bride.  RED is the color and it fits the for the blog. I started with a raw wooden heart from the Target Value shelves (3.00).   I found the darling Be Still My Heart graphic as a free download at I Should be Mopping the Floor Blog     I printed it on a transparent whole page label.       The raw wood made it easy to paint in a translucent manner to allow the wood grain to show through on the backside.   A wet paper towel with acrylic paint worked like magic. Hi there, it's Jean to share my Angel with you.   My Christmas tree and decorations are bright colors but I always have a soft spot for a sweet angel.  This sweet girl (not sure why but I think of angels as girls, maybe because they are often adorned in pastel colors) glistens and softly shines.        I added glitter to the chalk paint and coated the angel. The Collage angel I chose was fancy cut and applied with watery Aleenes glue. Next was the wings of lace and the flowers, I did this before anything because I wanted to coat it all with glitters.  I used four glitter styles. Fine iridescent white and pale pink and chunky pink over top.  Layer upon layer of glitters, it is after all Angelic!!  The final glitter material was flakes added to the bottom edge in a greenish tone to pick up the green in the flowers.  I hope you can see all the sparkle!    Supplies...

A little  extra  to tuck into a gift.  Emerald Creek Embossing Powders are fantastic and I especially like the metals, copper, gold, hammered pewter like and more.  Plus of course, we all need clear powders.    I decided I would make ornaments to use with or as my gift tags.  Each one would become a little treasure that could be used on the tree or as a gift decoration. I began with two collages, 3148 and 3084 .  Each has an assortment of fun images from which to choose. The one I will do for today is the larger and uses a slice of a wooden branch that has been sanded.   Since it is time for wood chopping, there may be extra branches left over.   The shine and shimmer of the metallic embossing  powders are amazing.  Santa's beard was done with Glacier White powder.   The copper edging used is Kettle  Copper .   I used an embossing pen due to the small areas I would be c...

You might think it is based on my sweet little project today. Howdy, It's Jean with another Foundations Decor item for the winter holidays. This sweet little tree is a place card or photo holder.  High-quality wood with a metal spindle for the photo and a little MDF heart for more decoration. 2 x 2 1/2 wood only, add the metal and it reaches  5 1/2 inches tall.   I used very simple ingredients for the project. Foundations Decor Wooden Pine Tree Mica Aleenes Glue scissors Jute and Wood Trim ~ 75% off last year! Lime Green acrylic paint   So easy and so colorful.  This may inspire you to use more than papers.  Think paints, glitters, baubles, pearls and most anything that you can glue onto the wood.
