It’s Friday!!   Hurrah!   Robin here and I’m happy to be back with another project here on the Altered Pages blog.   We are continuing our month-long partnership with Unruly PaperArts and Leaky Shed Studio products.   I have an origami project to share with you today.   I recently purchased a disk from HSN during Craft Month (a.k.a. March) and it has a wide variety of projects on it.   I love this little triangle box.   In keeping with the theme this month, it’s the perfect size to hold a tea bag and a little treat.   Sometimes origami can be a little complicated for me, but I was able to get this one right the first try and it only took a few minutes.   You need one sheet of 12x12 scrapbook paper.   It can be single or double sided.   I chose a two-sided pattern because I liked the thought of having a pretty inside to the box.   You don’t want card stock for the box part of this project because it will make the fol...

As you know this month Altered Pages is pairing up with Unruly PaperArts , a blogozine filled with creative ideas, art and inspiration.  Each month they cover a different theme ~ Aprils theme is Mail Art & Moos with a creative prompt of  Teacups & Tiaras.   Altered Page Artsociates are also incorporating laser cut chipboard from  Leaky Shed Studios .  If you've been following along this month I think you can tell we're all having great fun with it. Here is my offering for you today... a very British Postcard.... The teacup was painted with gesso then covered with two layers of the Silks Acrylic Glaze.  I used the Inca Gold Guilders Paste on the crown, rim of the tea cup and saucer.    To make the thin gold line around the outside edges of the postcard I used a scrap sheet of paper and positioned it so only the very edge of the postcard was showing.  I then rubbed the Guilders Paste over this exposed area and re...

This month the Altered Pages Design Team has been busy sharing Tiaras and Tea with Unruly PaperArts ! Today I would like to share one with some of my Tea TAGS!!!   The Postcard Tag was distressed with Art Anthology Sorbet Dimensional Paint - Kenyan Copper , Dylusions Ink Spray - Melted Chocolate  and   Brilliance Ink. Add images from the   French Style Collage Sheet . Altered Pages is playing along with Unruly PaperArts this month.   The monthly theme at Unrly PaperArts is Teacups an Tiaras! Alice in Wonderland is one of my favorite subjects...   when I think of tea I see ALICE! Paint the Leaky Shed Teacup and Crown with gesso, dry, then paint teacup with Silk Pink Grapefruit and dry, trim with German Scrap. Paint crown with Golden Iridescent Gold, top with Robbin's Nest Dew Drops. Distress edges of envelope with Brown and Black ink.  Adhere doily edge doily with Wink of Stella - Silver . Layer the Mad Hatter Party image from the  Alice in Wonderland Collage Sheet . Adhere Alice and Queen to thin chipboard and fussy cut to give a little dimension. Hello and welcome to my first post as part of the Altered Pages design team !   I appreciate the opportunity to share my art with you!   This month, Altered Pages is teaming up with Unruly Paper Arts , which is a BlogZine with wonderful art, and Leaky Shed Studio products.   Their theme this month is Mail Art and Moos.   I had never heard of a MOO before.   We’ll get back to that.   First, let’s see my mail art project! The Unruly Paper Arts April issue features an RAQ (ReaderArt Quest) challenge for their readers to play along and create using a theme and a visual prompt.   Teacups and Tiaras was the theme this month.   I made an all-in-one greeting card/envelope combo.
