Red White and Bunco!

I was going to show you some wood pieces for Fall but......

Instead, I got caught up making a centerpiece for my Bunco gathering this weekend.   Since we are so close to July 4th, I chose a patriotic theme.

I first tried to use the deco mesh on the glass dollar store candles which is so festive...but that was a DIY DON'T.  The mesh stretches and i simply could not get it into place evenly. .

so I ripped it apart and started over

I had a few red white and blue ribbons on hand and they worked nicely.

I have a galvanized metal tray that matches a drink dispenser and some other serving pieces, AHA.  I will use that deco mesh after all as the base for the candles.   I will tie the stars and stripes ribbon to the handles and added some dollar store stars for fun.

I hope your weekend is relaxing.

See more of the wood projects by the team.
Thanks to our partner this month,
Foundations Decor.

Handy Tip for Artists, Recyclers and Neat Freaks! I have a follow-up to the Citra-Sol method for creating fabulous background pages and collages.   I bought a big bag of navel oranges and realized I had the ingredients to make my own solvent!   Simply take a clean glass jar, peel the rind from the oranges and place all the rind/peels, without the pulp (tangerines, oranges, navels) into the jar.   Pour enough vinegar over the peels to cover them.    Allow the jar to sit for a week or two and VOILA!     You have made your own solvent for literally pennies.    You will notice the liquid getting a bit thicker than the plain vinegar and it does not smell bad!!! I now have a  HUGE jar on the window sill!       Be careful and only use this after testing on a safe spot.
