TERROR-IFIC Altered Block

Today I am thinking outside of the box.... actually this box is an ART BLOCK, a box without an opening...  wooden blocks are  available at Altered Pages !   I  have covered my box with one of my favorite Halloween personalities... POE, the Edgar Allen Poe collage sheet used is available at Altered Pages!!!   This will be on my desk at work every year at Halloween!       Start by painting the block with Black Gesso , let dry!   Supplies: Edgar Allen Poe collage sheet wooden blocks Black Gesso Gel medium All Hallows Eve pattern paper Heart Dew Drop & Black Dew Drops Other embellishments: bones, key, chess piece, skull  and raven.   Cut pieces of All Hallows Eve pattern paper  to fit each side of the block.  Use gel medium  to adhere them... add a layer of gel medium  over the paper.     Set aside to dry, preferably over night.   ...

Pillow Box Play.

One of my favorite types of boxes is the ever versatile pillow box, which can made in a variety of sizes and hold a magnitude of things from Treats for Halloween to small gifts such as jewelry.  The other reason I love them is they are so quick and easy to make, you can find lots of templates for them online, and even the latest Graphic 45 Paper Pads have them on the backs of their covers which is where the one I am using today came from. Supplies Used: Graphic 45 & Glitz 8 x 8 Paper Collections (available from Altered Pages) Radiant Neon Inks (to ink the edges of my papers) Double Sided Tape Scissors Bone Folder The 8 x 8 Paper Collections from Graphic 45 and Glitz which you can find in the Altered Pages Store are the perfect papers to use for making them too, teamed with the decorative journal cards and pieces that you will also find in these collections. Start by selecting your papers and using the template trace and cut out the shapes.  Sc...

Cut images from the Altered Pages collage sheets in the supply list and adhere with glue stick.   Adhere Dew Drop Heart with Tacky Glue !

A Little Fright Tin-ed

Hello from Dog-Ma Studio! Excuse the silly pun in the title.. I will do that on occasion. In honor of Halloween (which in my opinion, should be celebrated anytime) I have altered a little tin box and added a bit of "Fright" Supply List: Tin box Tissue Paper from my stash Scrapbook paper  from my stash Jolee's stickers Misc. Halloween stickers from my stash Paper flowers Gel medium Aileen's Tacky glue skull from my stash Mica chips (hard to see but they ARE there) Stickles Ribbon Starting my choosing process. Used gel (matte) medium to adhere all paper elements. Here I chose a couple of papers from my stash, they are not actually Halloween papers but the colors worked well for what I wanted. After I cut and inserted the inside papers, I found some great green and orange tissue in my stash and began adhering that directly to the box. You don't want to adhere anything to the inside top of the tin or around the area of the lip where ...
