Altered Pages Collages with DecoArt Valentines!

This has been a great month of projects by the Altered Pages Design Team using products from our Partner DecoArts!  If you haven't seen all the post this month be sure to spend some time on the blog and look over the posts for January!  Today is your last chance to comment on the blog for a chance at this months giveaway!

When January ends it means one thing... Valentines is just around the corner!  Today I have a few Valentines postcards!  These will have to mailed in envelopes as they have dimensional embellishments on them!

Three sweet Valentines...

In my stash I had a few heavy duty blank postcards that I decided to use for my Valentines. First, paint the postcards with DecoArt paints Media Fluid Acrylics: Primary Magenta, Cadmium Red Hue and Glamour Dust Ultra Fine Glitter Paint: Celebration Pink. Let it dry!

Apply a thin coat of Matte Medium add doilies, sheet music and Altered Pages collage images.

On one of the cards I added a couple of hearts using DecoArt Modeling Paste. Let it air dry.

Adhere old sheet music with Matte Medium, it makes a great background material.

Then add a Doilies and Altered Pages collage images with Matte Medium. Let dry. Once dry add Washi Tape, Dew Drops and Wink of Stella for a bit of sparkle!

Handy Tip for Artists, Recyclers and Neat Freaks! I have a follow-up to the Citra-Sol method for creating fabulous background pages and collages.   I bought a big bag of navel oranges and realized I had the ingredients to make my own solvent!   Simply take a clean glass jar, peel the rind from the oranges and place all the rind/peels, without the pulp (tangerines, oranges, navels) into the jar.   Pour enough vinegar over the peels to cover them.    Allow the jar to sit for a week or two and VOILA!     You have made your own solvent for literally pennies.    You will notice the liquid getting a bit thicker than the plain vinegar and it does not smell bad!!! I now have a  HUGE jar on the window sill!       Be careful and only use this after testing on a safe spot.

Full Circle

Hi all! Becky here today! I have been in a circle-mood lately & have been doing circles on everything! So why not do some circles with some of my Gelli Prints??? Here's a simple little card I made using 4 different circle punches, a black pen & some previously made Gelli prints! Hope you're enjoying Springtime in your area! Cheers!
