Some "Unusual" Colors of the Season...

Hopefully by now you've seen that there is a new challenge up for you to participate in up on the Challenge Blog about "The Colors of the Season" (HERE) & you are working on your projects to submit!
I'm a little late to the party this month (December is just nuts for me!) & I am still working on my project, but I thought I'd share a little peek at what I have done so far…
I found this adorable birdhouse at Michaels & just knew that I wanted to use some AP products on it for a Christmas project! I also knew that I didn't want to work with traditional Christmas colors & was inspired by the G45 Bohemian Bazaar postcards in the shop!
So far, all I've gotten done is to paint it with aqua & pink paint (yes, that's pink, not red! Still need to tweak it a little to be more pink!), then I covered the house with some sheet music & dry-brushed the aqua paint all over; then stamped a little bit here & there; & dripped Splash Inks over the roof.
Next, I will use an image from this fabulous collage sheet…
I am thinking of using the cute little giggling girl in the bottom right corner. My plan is to put some wings on her from the Victorian Butterflies collage sheet & place her in a nest inside! I will probably embellish with some other fun stuff, but I don't want to share my entire vision just yet! That would spoil the fun!

That's it for today!
I'll post more pix when it's all done!
(Hopefully before Christmas next week! HA!)

I hope you will join the designers & participate in the "Colors of the Season" Challenge this month!
Wishing you a Happy Holiday Season!!

Cheers,

Handy Tip for Artists, Recyclers and Neat Freaks! I have a follow-up to the Citra-Sol method for creating fabulous background pages and collages.   I bought a big bag of navel oranges and realized I had the ingredients to make my own solvent!   Simply take a clean glass jar, peel the rind from the oranges and place all the rind/peels, without the pulp (tangerines, oranges, navels) into the jar.   Pour enough vinegar over the peels to cover them.    Allow the jar to sit for a week or two and VOILA!     You have made your own solvent for literally pennies.    You will notice the liquid getting a bit thicker than the plain vinegar and it does not smell bad!!! I now have a  HUGE jar on the window sill!       Be careful and only use this after testing on a safe spot.
