FLY

It is Day 3 of the 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop and the title of this piece pretty much says it all...FLY! Oh hi, it's Gia here and I am sharing a little altered Bingo board Halloween home decor item. Of all the thousands of images on the Altered Pages website this one is my absolute favorite for Halloween. It captures the spirit of letting go, being free, and believing in just a little bit of magic!

Here are the Altered Pages supplies you will need to create your own:

Graphic 45 Steampunk Spells Paper Pad
Collage "The Wicked Witches"
Aleene's Tacky Glue (and a hot glue gun/glue sticks to make the cones)
Glitter
German Scrap

I also used stick pins from Maya Road, black seam binding,  and rubber stamps with the sentiments Trick or Treat and Fly from my stash used with gold embossing powder. The technique for making the miniature paper cones with the stick pins comes from Lisa M. Pace's second book Delight in the Seasons.

Thanks for stopping by! The links for the Wicked Blogger 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop will be up all month long for those participating- we hope you will join the fun! For detailed instructions on this project check out my personal blog The Painted Crane. Make sure you are following the Altered Pages blogs and design team blogs so you won't miss a thing!

Handy Tip for Artists, Recyclers and Neat Freaks! I have a follow-up to the Citra-Sol method for creating fabulous background pages and collages.   I bought a big bag of navel oranges and realized I had the ingredients to make my own solvent!   Simply take a clean glass jar, peel the rind from the oranges and place all the rind/peels, without the pulp (tangerines, oranges, navels) into the jar.   Pour enough vinegar over the peels to cover them.    Allow the jar to sit for a week or two and VOILA!     You have made your own solvent for literally pennies.    You will notice the liquid getting a bit thicker than the plain vinegar and it does not smell bad!!! I now have a  HUGE jar on the window sill!       Be careful and only use this after testing on a safe spot.
