Fairy Dreams

Happy Tuesday!
Becky here today! I hope you are all enjoying these first few days of spring!
It's so wonderful to have some warmer weather & to see all the new growth!
Spring is so renewing, don't'cha think?

Did you know that Altered Pages is more than just a great digital collage site? The shop is stocked with hundreds of products for all sorts of mixed media projects! From papers to embellishments to stamps & there's more arriving all the time! Check it out here!

Today I am sharing this 8x10 canvas with you..
The adorable fairy was my muse. She's from the Beautiful Dreamer red rubber set {currently out of stock, but check back soon!} I stamped her onto one of those waxy sheets you pick up at the grocers bakery to get donuts & cookies out of the case! I was going to leave her semi-transparent, but decided I wanted her to pop more, so I brushed some cream paint behind her.
The rest of the canvas was painted with acrylic paints & then collaged with papers from the Glitz Laced Grace 8x8 pad. I glazed over all the papers & image with a peach wash & then a Naples yellow. Then I textured over the top with various punchinello, bubble wrap & more.

Thanks for stopping by today!
See you soon!

Handy Tip for Artists, Recyclers and Neat Freaks! I have a follow-up to the Citra-Sol method for creating fabulous background pages and collages.   I bought a big bag of navel oranges and realized I had the ingredients to make my own solvent!   Simply take a clean glass jar, peel the rind from the oranges and place all the rind/peels, without the pulp (tangerines, oranges, navels) into the jar.   Pour enough vinegar over the peels to cover them.    Allow the jar to sit for a week or two and VOILA!     You have made your own solvent for literally pennies.    You will notice the liquid getting a bit thicker than the plain vinegar and it does not smell bad!!! I now have a  HUGE jar on the window sill!       Be careful and only use this after testing on a safe spot.
