Spring Scrapbook Page / Collage

Judy Wood here today with a Spring scrapbook page created using Sabor papers . Choose the coordinating Sabor papers to accent/layer your photo.   Cut to size. Use acrylic paint or Gelatos on your blending tool to apply paint through the stencil (any stencil will do).   Use this stencil technique to decorate one or both papers. I used purple paint with my stencil to match one of the coordinating papers.  Let dry. Randomly stamp with diluted white paint  or white Gelatos stamp both papers.   I have a favorite ‘font’ stamp, but any stamp will do. The diluted white paint helps unify the contrasting papers.  Let dry.   Layer papers and photo(s). Use Aleen’s Tacky Glue or adhesive tape to secure. Add flat flowers to finish (if using in a scrapbook) or 3D flowers if using as a collage or wall hanging. You can always add ribbon, lace , butterflies, or flowers. Cinco de Mayo Party Invitation

Happy Monday, everyone!  I hope your week is off to a good start.  Here, at  Altered Pages , we are getting ready for Cinco de Mayo using our newest addition to the Altered Pages store, the gorgeous  Sabor Papel  papers and embellishments.  In  my previous post , I shared a fun, bright fan to help keep the Summer heat at bay.  Today, I want to share a brilliant Cinco de Mayo invitation to send out to friends for your very own celebration! I cut out a lacy tri-fold card using my electronic die cut machine.  You can always make a straight edged tri-fold card, but I like the fancy top.  Decorative punches could also be used.  Use what you have. Cut colorful card stock layers to match colors in the Sabor Papel papers.  I also cut half circle pieces to place behind the lacy top sections of my card.  Adhere half circle pieces with  Zig 2-Way Glue Pen  behind lacy openings on card inside. Adhere cu...

Cookin' with Sabor ~ Part dos

Hi, Jean here to finish off my Colorful  Cookbook. (read all the way down for happy news) Family and Friends come first with me!  Love to entertain all the time for any reason or no reason at all!   I collect Cookbooks and make them for gifts.  Wedding showers, housewarmings and small ones for hostess gifts.   I like a binder format with removable page protectors to allow adding or changing the contents.    I HAVE A SAD STORY ~ My blog post was all finished and ready to go, I wanted to just add one tweak when BOOM!   I inadvertently hit a key and POOF, the entire post disappeared.  Don't know what I pressed but I will never do it again!   Therefore, it is shorter but you still get the point! For my project, I used a binder I got at a general merchandise store, ( we never say the name of the evil chain that begins with W and ends with mart) I covered front and back covers as well as the...

It's FIESTA!

Hi everyone!  Happy Friday.  It's Robin today and I have a fun and colorful party banner to share with you today.  We've seen a beautiful banner from Lyneen for Cinco de Mayo.  The one I'm sharing with you today is for that or any other occasion you choose to celebrate. My project begins with a sheet of lovely Ramitos paper by Sabor , cut down to 12" x 6 3/4".  This paper is a wonderful heavy weight and makes a great base for my banner.  A second sheet of Ramitos was used to cut out the letters in "FIESTA" using a 30 year-old-set of stencils.  Stencils are great tools to have in your crafting toolbox because they are good forever.  Altered Pages has a nice selection to choose from if you're looking for some.  I moved the letters around until I found the right balance of colors for each one.     Once the letters were cut out, I traced around the outer edges of each one with a berry colored permanent m...
