Bottle Cap Wind Chime

My project that I have for you is a cute little bottle cap wind chime.  
The really exciting thing about this project is that it will soon be offered as a kit from AlteredPages.com. So, check the site in a week or two and you can have everything you need, including detailed instructions, to make your very own chime shipped right to your front door.


This idea came to me when I saw the sweet little 
Barn Swallow from The Leaky Shed. They gave our AlteredPages Creative Team such fun chipboard to play with. 
Pretty cool job this is, I tell ya! 

The next few pictures document the supplies & tools I used.

Don't you just love my little helper?! 
Gabby sure did a great job punching bottle caps for me.  


 I had to show you a close up of this one. 
Between the artsy cap designs and the fun inclusions 
the thumb numbing punch work was well worth it. 
You can also see that I added big, chunky beads and crystals for
sun catching fun once hung outside.

    I love the look of the wind chime! How lucky Gabby punched the holes♥ Will the kit have the holes punched?

      Thanks Jackie. Yes, I believe the kit will come with caps that have been punched. I was very lucky to have a helper, her little hands were only able to do about 20 punches though. We both had sore thumbs by the time it was all said and done. She loves pitching in on my projects whenever she can. :-)

 Handy Tip for Artists, Recyclers and Neat Freaks! I have a follow-up to the Citra-Sol method for creating fabulous background pages and collages.   I bought a big bag of navel oranges and realized I had the ingredients to make my own solvent!   Simply take a clean glass jar, peel the rind from the oranges and place all the rind/peels, without the pulp (tangerines, oranges, navels) into the jar.   Pour enough vinegar over the peels to cover them.    Allow the jar to sit for a week or two and VOILA!     You have made your own solvent for literally pennies.    You will notice the liquid getting a bit thicker than the plain vinegar and it does not smell bad!!! I now have a  HUGE jar on the window sill!       Be careful and only use this after testing on a safe spot.

Full Circle

Hi all! Becky here today! I have been in a circle-mood lately & have been doing circles on everything! So why not do some circles with some of my Gelli Prints??? Here's a simple little card I made using 4 different circle punches, a black pen & some previously made Gelli prints! Hope you're enjoying Springtime in your area! Cheers!
