Faux Ceramic Tiles with EcoArtBoard and Crystal Lacquer

Happy Friday everyone, Leslie-Rahye bringing you a fun project that would be super as a hostess gift or a seasonal decoration for your message center or refrigerator! I'm a magnet junkie at my house...constantly we are crafting one magnet or another and my favorite are the ones that I've crafted on ceramic tiles. The problem with the ceramic tiles however is they are HEAVY and even with the super strong magnets can slide on your surfaces! That's where the EcoArtBoard is AWESOME. It has the thickness of a ceramic tile but none of the weight! Check out my procedure for creating these fabulous faux ceramic tile magnets! The Process For this project you will need: Wicked Witches AP-458 EcoArtBoard Paris Trunk Ink Black Sakura Hobby Crafts 3D Crystal Lacquer Beacon Adhesives Strong Magnets (mine were from Staples) I began by printing my Collage Page using the Photo Printing tools that allows you to print your "image" (in this case the whole collage p...

Using Gelli Prints for Cards & one more technique

Hi everyone!! Becky here today to share a few Christmas (YES! I said "Christmas!" It's NEVER too early!!) cards I created using some papers made from my Gelli Prints . If you haven't gotten your Gelli yet, you can find it HERE ! They are so much fun to play with - REALLY! I took it on a girls trip this weekend & I spent HOURS making papers on cardstock & old book pages! Once my girlfriends tried it, they were hooked too! It's totally addicting!! Anyway, on to the art! Here is one Gelli print that I trimmed to prepare it for the following card: I used a white card that was aged first with Paris Ink in Walnut using an Ink Sweeper ; then I inked the edges of my Gelli print with more Walnut; stamped a Christmas text block on it & then added these adorable Victorian kids from a Christmas CD I've had forever, but AlteredPages has so many more FANTASTIC Christmas images that you could use - browse them HERE !  For these two, I...

Feeling a Little Witchy?

Aimee here, with a cute little witchy card for you! I love this sheet of witches, and this one is so stinking cute! Fall is my favorite time of year,  and Halloween is my FAVORITE holiday.  I love dressing up, candy, fall leaves, being scared, corn mazes... ah, just all of it. So, here's a quick little witch card for you. Grey folded card, with a little Black Soot Distress Ink on the edges. Blue corrugated card stock with the same ink swiped over the surface. Black Tulle wrapped around the card front and knotted at the top. Print the witch and trim her out.  Use an Edge Distresser and rough up the edges. Add her to the card front. Add some black Stickles to her hat. Add a couple of fabric flowers , and you're done! And, here's a piggy. This little cutie is part of my family. His name is Papa Bear, and he's about a year old. He's such a fun little guy!

Lovely Lady Tag

I've got a tag here for you today.  It uses the emboss resist technique for the background.   Stamp and clear emboss an image, then sponge or spray inks over it.  The embossing resists the ink.  This is one of my favorite techniques that I use all the time. I used a lovely lady from AP1855 Beauty in Pink for my focal image and a word from AP1430 mini words to embellish.  A shimmery ribbon tied at the top completes the look.

"Mirror...Mirror" Do You See an Altered Art Journal Page???

Welcome to Altered Pages and I hope you are enjoying your Sunday! Susan here bringing you another page in my Art Journal created using Altered Pages Digital Collage Sheets, Glitz paper and some German Scrap detailing. I have to admit I have had quite a creatively exhausting day which involved dodging torrential storms from Tropical Storm Isaac {which is still passing through}. The weather had my creative muse in a tizzy and I have begun four separate altered projects - three of which are using embossed metal {my orginal planned technique for today}. It seems my muse had another plan today and this art journal page is the one of the four projects to come to full fruition today...and I love it!  The great thing about "ALTERED ART" is that anything goes - AND - absolutely everything can be used for creating. To begin, I pick a few images to play with, get out some supplies and set out working very organically [meaning I just see where things lead]. I collage...

a few of my favorite things

We all have our favorite things, right?  Here are just a few of the supplies I find myself reaching for frequently, some of my very favorite things you'll find at Altered Pages : Transit Tokens Gotta have 'em.  They're real, not reprodutions, a nice weight, have some great texture, and a wonderful patina.  Perfect for any travel themed project, and good grief, only $1.00 a package! Ephemera Pack Lots of variety in styles, size, colors, etc-- I've used up s everal packs of these, as they are perfect for making the mini tag books I enjoy creating.  Well, if you're going to use tags, you know they need embellishing, and my favorites for making that happen are Lightbulb Safety Pins While it may not look like much by itself, it is PERFECT for adding embellishment to a single tag, or for connecting several tags together.  Add beads, ribbon, lace, bits of sequins waste, or even tiny shells, like in the Summer By the...

Saving the world one Gnome at a time!!!

Hi all Kelli here today with a cute litte piece of jewelry!  Now what does that have to do with saving the world..... Let me tell you friends, we are using a water bottle for this bracelet.  Yep that's right a water bottle!!!  Now unfortunately I only have pictures of the finished product because I wasn't quite sure how this was going to turn out!  I know I know I should take photos anyway but I am sorry!!! What you need to make this bracelet is a water bottle, the thicker the better, I used a VOSS water bottle but use what you have, a collage sheet from AlteredPages.com , I used the Gnomes and Trolls , sheet AP 2029, I love the Gnomes!!!, some old book pages,  some mod podge, a button, some cord, a big paper clip, and some patience.  Unfortunately I don't have pictures of the process but will have a tutorial on my blog for it on Saturday!  Please come check it out!!!

Travel Time Card

Hi everyone ! Eunice here from The Little Things  ! I created a quick little card or journal to either keep or give as a card for a reminder of some travels or you can use any theme you want !  I made this using a vintage tiny folder , but you can create one from card stock also in any color you want !! I  first stamped my little folder with stamps ( any theme you choose ) ! The photo above has one of my favorite stamps from AP , can be found here  ! You can create any word you want with this set ! The bird is here  !  I took a manila tag and glued an image on it , again , you can use any image that will go with your theme !   I used one of my vintage maps and cut out the shape of my tag , then cut a slit so it will reveal your hidden image underneath ! You can "roll" the triangles a bit and distress with inks to age and distress if you like ! The above photo is using collage sheets with travel theme, I also attached a little tag with adorable ...
